Additional Information

Escape for the day to Waiheke, New Zealand’s “Island of Wine”. Enjoy a relaxing and informative day on Waiheke in the safe hands of a knowledgeable guide.

You will visit three of Waiheke’s top vineyards and sample a range of their wines. Along the way, enjoy a scenic drive with live commentary to learn about the island’s history, geography, people and culture. If you prefer you can swap a wine tasting for a whisky, beer gin or olive oil tasting.

After your tasting experiences, sit back, relax and enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before heading back to the ferry or your accommodation. Lunch is included.

Minimum age is 18 years for wine tasting and wine during lunch
Child rate applies only when sharing with 2 paying adults
Ferry tickets can be purchases at the Fullers Ferry Terminal at 99 Quay St
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required

Wine Island, yes please! - Deb Harris is a lovely guide. We visited a number of beautiful wineries and a wonderful lunch at Tantulus vineyard. Deb was engaging and approachable for questions, etc. We loved the Velvet wine at Mudbrick Vineyards the best.

Flexibility on a private tour - A great day with our private tour guide Janis. A comfortable drive throughout the Island with commentary about the history, culture, nature and, of course, wine. Private tastings at top wineries but the real benefit was Janis’ flexibility in adjusting our tour on the fly according to our tastes and preferences. An unscheduled visit to a private art gallery was the highlight.

Amazing!!! - Amazing experience w/ a family owned business. Our guide Steve truly cared and ensured we had a great time at each winery. He was pleasant to speak with and was all around a good person. Would absolutely recommend you book this experience

Great Private Tour - Our group of 6 had a two day private tour with Jo as our guide and she was very knowledgeable and easy to be around. On our arrival from our long flight she took us hiking to Stony Batter and gave us some history of the area. Then drove us back to town for a great lunch stop. Good way to get rid of our jet lag On day 2 we went to the Stonyridge Vineyard and had a great tasting then to Tantalus estate for another. Ended with a huge lunch at the Mudbrick winery. I would highly recommend this company and Jo.

Essence of Waiheke - Not only was the tour incredible and a must see but the lunch and wine were to die for too. most importantly the fabulous tour wouldn’t be complete without an amazing tour guide neither . Michael from Ananda was the best tour guide who also made our trip the amazing experience it was. I am a travel agent from Australia and would highly recommend this tour company and guide. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

Great day out - We had a fantastic private tour for six of us with Michael. He was a delight and his personality fit with our group so well. His knowledge of the island was great and he was super accommodating to requests. We had a lovely relaxed day. Definitely recommend!
