Bombay Hills - The Bombay Hills, located south of Auckland, New Zealand, form a small yet significant range that marks the southern boundary of the Auckland region, separating it from the Waikato region. Named after the ship Bombay, which in turn was named after the Indian city of Bombay (now Mumbai), the term ‘Bombay’ also refers to a breed of black, short-haired, medium-sized cat.

Experience a sacred and spiritual place that offers an authentic indigenous cultural experience like no other.

Self-guided walks, taking between 45 and 90 minutes, allow you to explore this surreal, lunar-like environment, offering the chance to witness volcanic wonders and capture amazing photos of unique features such as the world-famous Champagne Pool, naturally colored hot and cold springs, Devil’s Bath, bubbling mud, steaming ground, expansive vistas, huge volcanic craters, and sinter terrace formations.
