- Pakiri - Leaving Matakana, an excellent coastal drive to Mathesons Bay, perhaps the best beach in Auckland. Then on to Leigh for its views and to the top of Pakiri Hill. Here, panoramic 360-degree views of this magnificent region.
- Morris & James Pottery - World-renowned pottery near Matakana. Needs to be seen. Really good stuff.
- Sandspit - Beautiful harbour and a reliable stop for coffee and a quick bite. Then to Brick Bay Hill for excellent views of the wider Hauraki Gulf.
- Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron - Drive back to the city from the north to the Yacht Club. Home of the America’s Cup. There is a restaurant there for afternoon tea or meals. Then to drop off.
