Additional Information

Take pleasure in this intimate electric bicycle tour of Auckland, New Zealand’s biggest city. From the convenience of your bike seat, you will witness the landmark views of Auckland city, besides exploring some of the local’s most-liked regions. This tour package also includes an electric bike rental, a local guide, and limits each tour to a maximum of 6 travellers.

  • For your enjoyment and safety, groups are small and personal, so a maximum of 6 riders per group, plus friendly guide
  • Minimum age 14 years old (teenagers of 14-15 years old must be accompanied by an adult).
  • Minimum rider height is 5 foot (152cm).
  • Adult pricing applies to all travelers.
  • Whilst experience riding an electric bike is not necessary (we’ll provide an orientation and we’ll do a test ride to make sure you’re comfortable before we head off), you must of course be able to ride a bike! If you haven’t ridden in a while, for your enjoyment/safety and that of your fellow riders, we strongly recommend you have a practice riding at home before your visit to Auckland. As well as riding on our wonderful cycleways, we will of course be riding in the road at times (to get to the good places!). Riding in traffic is a dynamic environment, so you will need to be comfortable riding in the road in order to enjoy the tour. And Auckland’s volcanic past means that there a quite few hills to go up and down - the eBikes make going up easy, but you’ll obviously need to be able to ride downhill! If you’d prefer a shorter, easier ride along Auckland’s beautiful waterfront - check out The Easy Rider, one of our other tour listings!
  • Closed toe shoes are required. Sports gear not necessary, casual clothes are fine but dress to the conditions please.
  • Free storage available for small bags at the city centre departure point.
  • The tours run rain or shine, you will be provided free use of a bright and comfortable rain jacket, if you need one.
  • Our electric bikes are designed with a maximum weight capacity of 250 pounds (113 kg).
  • We recommend you bring sunscreen - the sun in NZ can be very harsh.
  • You may also wish to bring a bottle of water with you for the ride. You can store that in the bag on your bike. The is also a water fountain near our departure point - if you need to fill up your water bottle.

Must do Experience in Auckland! - Do not miss seeing Auckland by E bike! The E bikes are of top quality and Carson did a fabulous job orienting the group to the bike. I am an avid cyclist, but riding a e bike is new to me. Great for any experienced or beginner rider as you use different levels of power. They give you audio ear pieces as you ride to hear the guide. I thought those were so cool! Plus the guide uploads pictures of you to your email and gives a restaurant map of all the places he mentions! Carson was a top notch guide keeping us informed of the history of New Zealand and being personable. Well worth the money and got to see so many places in Auckland. Beats taking the bus any day! This is a must book. The Cafe that you meet at by the Hyatt is very yummy as well! I ate there as I waited for the tour to start. Five stars all around!

Excellent Guide - Eddie is very responsible and takes care of everything meticulously. He even prepared windproof jackets for us in case we got cold. Throughout the trip, he paid great attention to our safety and highlighted the unique culture of Auckland. He is patient, polite, and very caring. Eddie loves life and spreads that love to others, making new visitors feel comfortable and welcomed. He balances comfort and responsibility very well, making him an excellent guide for experiencing Auckland's city electric bike tour.

The best way to city tour! A must do! - I can’t recommend this enough! It was an amazing experience to get to know the city by electric bike! You get to see places that otherwise would miss in a very relaxed and fun way. Mat, my guide, is great, very knowledgeable, and gives a lot of background and fun facts of the city during the ride. It was my first time on an electric bike and i am hooked! Very easy and safe all the way. Auckland traffic is light and we mainly go through bike lanes. Definitely a must do!

A perfect introduction to Auckland! - This was one of the best things we did on our trip to New Zealand. I hadn’t ridden an ebike before so was a bit nervous. But our guide Carson (funny guy!) was very patient with us. Really appreciated the test ride at the start in a quiet area off the road. And the route showed us so much of the city - lots of ideas for the rest of our stay (we went back to Auckland Museum and the Maritime Museum). The audio system was also great - not had that before on a bike tour. Great for hearing commentary and safety instructions from Carson as we rode along. Auckland has such great “cycleways” (cycle lanes) - wish we had more of them at home - such a great way to get round the city, particularly on an electric bike! P.s. the list of recommended restaurants and cafes was great, thanks :)
