We were able to ask lots of questions and Harriet knew the answer to all of them. She was very flexible with the places we visited and changed the itinerary to suit us.

She's a wealth of local knowledge and just really friendly, welcoming, and wonderful. The day is diverse, we saw a lot and active enough without being overbearing. Really such an enjoyable morning, I can't recommend this tour and tour company enough!!!

The timings of the tour allowed us to miss the crowds and captured amazing photos and memories. The wine tasting and strawberry ice cream were delicious too. Thank you for a memorable day. Definitely worth booking without hesitation, truly wonderful day.

Auckland Jan2025 - Beautiful scenery. Black sand beach, waterfall, walking the volcano caldera with great views of Auckland from the city to both shores. great guide, Harriet was knowledgeable and friendly. She caters to what her customers want to stop to see. We had a choice between stopping at a winery or brewery and we chose the brewery. Good food and good fun with the others that were on our tour.

Excellent Day Trip Option for Cruise Ship Passengers - Excellent sightseeing tour for cruise passengers. Takes you beyond the limits of Auckland to Piha Beach, Karekare Waterfall, Soljans Winery (and on our tour, a stop at a local bakery for a meat pie and real fresh fruit ice cream at a local stand). Harriet was friendly, knowledgeable and quite fun. Our tour departed at 8am (7:45 pickup) within easy walking distance of our ship and drop-off to the ship at 2pm. Communication and responses to our queries were quick and answered all our questions. Very reasonable excursion for all we did (and compared to premium priced ship excursions). Definitely consider this!

Excellent Independent Tour of Auckland Area! - What a fabulous day trip this was! We were looking for an independent tour outside the tours offered by our cruise ship (Viking Orion) for the first full day in Auckland. We wanted to see sights beyond the city, and this tour was perfect. Harriet, our tour guide met us in front of a local hotel directly across from the pier (about 100 yards from our ship) right on schedule. We shared the day with a lovely couple from Devon England who had disembarked the ship the day before and were spending a few extra days in Auckland on their own. Harriet was a delight, taking us to a volcanic crater that is now a park just outside the city with wonderful views of the city and harbor. Then a drive to Piha Beach on the west coast. The black sand beach was stunning, and we spent time watching some of the surfers. A road closure prompted a change in plans and we headed to Karekare Falls, a short hike from the residential road. Truly beautiful! All along the way, Harriet pointed out the native plants, trees and birds we saw. We also made a quick stop at the Rose Hellaby house which offered a distant panoramic view of Auckland. We then headed to a one of the Large Kauri walks to see this magnificent 1,000 yo tree. They are endangered and now protected in the country. Heading out of the hills, we made a stop at Soljans Winery for a tasting (included in the tour). Normally we would have had lunch at the winery (not included), but Harriet offered us a couple other options. Since we had never tried a meat pie (or a pasty as our fellow British travelers referred to it), we went to a local bakery for a tasty meat pie, followed by some delicious real fruit ice cream. The ice cream is blended with fresh fruit as you wait (the strawberries are grown in the fields next to the ice cream stand). Bellies full, we drove back to our point of departure well ahead of our “all aboard” call. We couldn’t have been more pleased with this scenic and informative introduction to the Auckland area and New Zealand in general. The tour ran from 9am-5pm and was quite a bargain in my book compared to the premium prices of the ship’s excursions that day. The tour operator provided great communication prior to our arrival, and answered any questions we had promptly and courteously. Highly recommend! (PS Harriet, we hope you and your partner have a wonderful holiday and fantastic 2025!
