Malta Aviation Museum is an aircraft museum situated on the site of the former Royal Air Force airfield in the village of Ta’Qali, on the island of Malta. The museum, based in three hangars, covers the history of aviation on the island with exhibits, particularly from the Second World War and post-war periods. The museum is involved in the preservation and restoration of aircraft, some of which are in airworthy condition.

Mosta Rotunda - Mosta Basilica, a Roman Catholic Church dedicated
to the Assumption of Our Lady. The design is based on the Pantheon in Rome, has the third largest unsupported dome in the world and is Malta’s largest and most famous church. The church narrowly avoided destruction during World War II when on 9 April 1942 a German aerial bomb pierced the dome and fell into
the church during Mass, but failed to explode. This event was interpreted by the Maltese as a miracle, although many bombs failed to explode. During you visit you will also go up to the portico, to the bell tower & enter in the inner gallery of the church.
Then you will visit the World War II Shelter that skirts the Mosta Church parvis. The Shelter which was opened recently, was dug by hand in 1940 by 15 highly-skilled workmen. Families used this shelter during World War II to protect themselves from the many and continuous air raids. At the end of the tour, you will also enjoy some local savouries

Great excursion - We took this trip today, collected from our hotel in a very old Bedford Bus about 09.00, and dropped off back there about 1.30. Miriam was the guide and David was the driver, they were great, they provided commentary about the island on the way to the air museum, and the guide at the museum was also very informative. We then went to the church at Mosta which is magnificent, and had a light traditional Maltese snack for lunch. All in all it was a thoroughly enjoyable trip

Excellent Half Day Tour - This was a great experience, our guide and driver were excellent. We visited the Malta air museum, which was really interesting, we had a private tour (7 of us) with a knowledgeable guide, who worked at the museum, it would have been nice to spend longer there but we may well return. We then went on to Mosta to see the basilica , which was lovely and very interesting, we then went down to an area of the air raid shelters, lastly we had a lunch platter with wine and coffee, which was a lovely way to end the tour. This was a brilliant tour and really good value, we would definitely recommend.

Chara trip - Met the owner of the aircraft museum who knew his stuff amd had a good collection of exhibits. Good luck restoring the Gladiator

Slightly rushed at the end - This was a great experience the bus was amazing and definitely the drivers passion. Ray showed us around the aviation museum and his passion was evident. Mosta dome was amazing however the dome, the WW2 shelter and the platter felt rushed. It would have nice if there had been some explanation along with platter. No one knew what we were eating although it was as all very nice.

Overwhelming luck with a 95-year-old - To have overwhelming luck with a 95-year-old is probably one of the rare, but in this case it was completely right. A fantastic excursion with knowledgeable and committed guides and drivers as well as a nice lunch. Recommended ;)
Would have gotten 110 percent if the guide wasn't missing at the flight museum.

Visit during cooler months - Remote. No cafe. Visited in July and the building was very uncomfortable due to the very hot temp outside. Best visit on cooler days. Cold drink machine cash only.

Not what was advertised - Terrible! Guide didn’t seem to know what she was doing.
Bus was for kindergarten children, even the smallest adult couldn’t sit straight on a seat.
We spent an hour waiting for other guests(not their fault) at Mosta. A rushed look round the rotunda, Maltese platter, then onto aviation museum, which was the best bit, the guide there Ray was excellent

AWFUL Trainwreck of a Tour - Tour Guide Left Before We Did - OMG What a proverbial trainwreck of a tour. Save yourself some time and frustration by getting an Uber or taxi and go tour the church yourself.
Firstly, the tour started an HOUR late. Yes, traffic but there were too many people booked, and half of the people on the tour were coming from a different location and held us up. We wanted to cancel because we were forced to sit in the hot bus for an hour and wait with zero communication regarding what the problem was.
The old green bus that we traveled on was cute but it putt-putts and is not air conditioned. To make up for being late, the tour guide RUSHED. The church was nice but we could have done that by ourselves with an UBER which I recommend. The Maltese platter was not good tasting and completely unnecessary.
To top it all off, the TOUR GUIDE LEFT THE TOUR BEFORE SEVERAL OF THE CUSTOMERS DID! That's a first for me. Don't go on this tour.
