Visited three of the many... - Visited three of the many monasteries and nunneries atop the rock spires. Breathtaking and reflective. It was a long bus ride from Athens so my only negative comment was there was a missed opportunity to educate us on the way with more history and detail of what we were going to be witnessing. Otherwise great.

Meteora Monasteries Day Tour with Lunch - The tour organized by the Sights of Athens Team was absolutely delightful – we enjoyed every moment from the very beginning to the end. The transportation from Athens was smooth and well-organized, with convenient pick-up points throughout the city. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by Ewa – an experienced, passionate, and truly caring guide. Thanks to her knowledge, enthusiasm, and attention to detail, we felt not only well-informed but genuinely looked after throughout the entire visit. Ewa created a WhatsApp group to share important updates, practical tips, and fascinating photos of places not usually accessible to tourists – a thoughtful and highly appreciated gesture. The included lunch was another highlight: delicious and perfectly suited to the character of this unique day. If only every tour had a guide like Ewa – traveling would always be unforgettable. Highly recommended!

Felt like the monastery of the nuns was similar to the money changers Christ posted from the temple when he walked the earth

Excellent Guide, Stunning Tour — But the Company Left Me Scrambling and Out Hundreds of Euros - This review is tough to write because the cultural experience itself was beautiful. The monasteries were breathtaking, and our guide was exceptional knowledgeable, engaging, and clearly invested in sharing the region’s rich history. I booked this tour because I value depth and authenticity when I travel, and the guide truly delivered that. But unfortunately, the company’s handling of logistics and customer support caused real harm emotionally and financially. I selected this tour because it was listed as 13.5 hours, starting at 7 AM. With a flight at 11:55 PM, I felt I’d given myself plenty of buffer time, even allowing for unexpected delays. I’m a culturally aware traveler — I know things don’t always run like clockwork, and I planned accordingly. But on the return, it became clear something was off. We were nowhere near Athens and I started getting anxious. I messaged the company from the bus — no response. In the end, we got back over 15 hours after departure, and I missed my flight, despite having arranged for a taxi and contacted the airline in advance. The company later blamed “summer traffic,” but there was no traffic — it was simply poor planning. To make matters worse, when I explained what happened and asked for a partial credit to offset the significant expenses I now faced — rebooking fees, new transport, and accommodation — I was met with indifference. They brushed it off as if it wasn’t their problem, despite the fact that I had chosen this tour in good faith based on the stated itinerary and did everything I could to avoid this exact situation. This left me feeling not just frustrated, but deeply unsupported. I didn’t expect perfection, but I did expect some degree of accountability — especially when I absorbed the full financial impact of their failure to manage time properly. In short: The guide and the cultural content were outstanding. But the logistics, lack of communication, and total absence of customer care left a sour ending to what could have been a wonderful experience. If you book, do it with caution — and avoid if you have any time-sensitive plans afterward.
