Amazing Meteora tour - I did the 2 day Meteora tour from Athens at the end of December. I had an amazing time. Meteora is a very special place, the tour was very well organised. Both guides and all drivers were excellent. Thank you to Vasilis the tour leader and Nikos the driver day 1. On Day 2 , the hiking led by Dimitris the mountain guide and Thodoris the driver. Both guides had great knowledge and love for their local area. Dimitris was very funny and really added to my experience. Thank you!!

Great trip!! Book it now. - The 2 day trip to Meteora was a wonderful tour. The guides were knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, and helpful. Visiting the monestaries was an amazing experience that I would highly recommend. We upgraded to the higher level hotel and it was well worth the money. If you are interested in visiting Meteora, this is the way to do it..

Unique experience - This area definitely needs two days, it would have been too much in one day with such a long drive. The bus was smooth and the stops were nice. The hotel they picked was comfortable for one night. The guides both days had lots of information and insight. It was interesting to see the difference between these monasteries. Truly unique experience.

Excellent combination - Excellent activity. From Athens, you have to take a 2-day tour to see the Meteors. The 4-hour “sunset tour” gave us the opportunity to get an overview of the site: Theotokos Church, Kastraki village, hermit caves and monasteries. We were able to visit a monastery and take pictures at sunset. Our guide Lina explained the history of the region, as well as the significance of several frescoes and customs of the Orthodox Church. The next morning, the 5h, 7km hike allowed us to see the site from a different angle, to learn more about the formation of meteors, the climate and the flora, in addition to visiting the monastery of the Grand Meteor and taking a path that the first monks used. Our guide Christophe was really connoisseur and also very attentive to the needs of each member of our group of 10 hikers. I highly recommend this experience. The bus ride is long and we returned to Athens tired, but it was worth it.

Wait for transfer back is too long - The guides and bus drivers were really good but the wait from 1pm to 5:30 pm to get transfered back to Athens is just annoying especially because most hotels dont allow a late check out. One has to hang out in the village although there is nothing to do. That made the experience - unfortunately- less good. I dont know why they do not find a different solution even though all customers dont seem to like it.

Interesting, beautiful place - Our both guides were great. Be ready to walk over 15K steps on first day and climb 28 floors on second day tour. Give yourself extra time In beginning of the trip, there was a confusing situation to find a right bus from the many parked buses, you have to check with each driver if you’re on their list. Also after being dropped off at the end of second day tour you have over 4 hours to kill until being picked up by the bus to return to Athens. I wish there was an option for early afternoon return.
