- Corinth Canal - We will pause briefly to admire the Corinth Canal (Isthmus). This narrow land strip links mainland Greece to the Peloponnese, and the canal carved through it connects the Saronic Gulf with the Corinthian Gulf, thereby linking the Aegean Sea with the Ionian Sea. The Isthmus spans approximately 6 kilometers, with the narrowest section being where the Corinth Canal was excavated (1880 to 1893).
