Best way to know Greece - This tour is highly informative, offering insights you'd expect from a local friend rather than a glossy brochure. It provides a thorough overview of the political and economic landscape of modern Greece, explaining why certain things are the way they are. Isaac, our guide, is highly knowledgeable and excels at storytelling, seamlessly blending substantial information with fun facts and intriguing details. As you stroll through the streets of Athens, you learn in an engaging way, observing the daily life of locals and noticing nuances you might otherwise miss. Isaac points out these details, enhancing your understanding of the city's culture and history. What I loved more was that tour is interactive, with Isaac encouraging participants to ask questions, making it especially engaging for those who enjoy a deeper, more thoughtful exploration. It's an excellent choice for anyone with a curious mind and a love for learning.

Fantastic tour - I cannot recommend this tour highly enough. Isaac was a brilliant guide, engaging and insightful, and the tour that he crafted really is like no other. I had no idea how complicated Greek politics and society are. If you'd like to go beyond the standard tours and sightseeing activities, this is a must do activity.

Very informative tour with a passionate guide - Isaac is a passionate and knowledgeable guide. I really enjoyed the route he took us along and his story spanning from the Greek independence war to the modern era. I appreciated that he had a lot of interesting anecdotes based on the recent news stories: they added flavor to his overarching narrative. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand what is the current political situation in Greece and what are the historical reasons for the way it is.

A really unique and eye-opening experience! - This is one of the best experiences/ tours that I have ever done. Isaac is a wealth of knowledge on Greece’s complex political and social dynamics, both contemporary and historical, and weaves it all together in a fascinating way to really lift the lid on what makes Greece what it is today, demystifying its apparent contradictions with insightful explanations and perspectives. I really like how he tried to draw comparisons to the socio-political contexts other countries that the visitor may be familiar with – in my example, India and the UK – and also have dived in as deep as one wanted into specific topics. It really helped peel the onion for me and gave me a completely different perspective of the country, which I was visiting for the first time (though I can see how it could be equally eye-opening for someone who has visited before or even lives there). I also really appreciated that although I happened to be the only person booked on the particular tour (and which I could unfortunately not do much about because of my overall itinerary), Isaac was still happy to go ahead with the tour and did so with the same gusto and energy which I presume he would have with a larger group. Thank you Isaac for a great experience!

A fascinating insight into what’s been happening in Greece - We took the tour with Isaac to find out a bit more about what we’ve seen in the news from Greece over the last few years. Isaac really brought this to life with humour, great story telling and really helpful ways of relating Greece to other countries. Of course people go to Athens for the Acropolis, but Isaac helped make the recent history a must see through this tour!

Great introduction to modern Greek history and politics! - Great overview of Athens' political history with Isaac. He took the time to walk through historical neighbourhoods and explain everything to us patiently, from Greek independence to modern Greek politics. Would love to hear about Greek history from a Greek in future, but this was a great introduction and I am grateful for the opportunity to learn from Isaac!

Best walking tour ever - If you are into political and social history, then you will love this tour. Isaac was able to answer all my questions about the Greek history and modern life, like: Is modern Greece into feminism post the me- too movement? Does it care about climate change? What are the anarchists actually fighting for? What is the state of racism? The history was absolutely fascinating. I recommend it to people who are into this kind of thing.
