• Parthenon - The Parthenon is a temple that dominates the Acropolis hill in Athens. Constructed in the mid-5th century BCE, it was dedicated to the Greek goddess Athena Parthenos (“Athena the Virgin”). The temple is widely regarded as the pinnacle of the Doric order’s development, the simplest of the three Classical Greek architectural styles.
