- Temple of Athena Nike - We are visiting the Temple of Athena Nike, a historical site dating back to the 5th century B.C., making it 2,500 years old. This monument is part of the Acropolis, and ‘Nike’ means ‘Victory.’ It was the temple where Athenians prayed before battles.
- Temple of Olympian Zeus - The Temple of Zeus, the King of Gods, is the birthplace of the Olympic Games ceremony in Athens. Built by the Roman Emperor Hadrian, it features 104 columns, each 13 meters high, and dates back to the 2nd century A.D. The site also includes baths where athletes purified themselves before the games.
- Panathenaic Stadium - The site of the first Olympic Games in 335 B.C., this stadium has a capacity of 65,000 and is also the endpoint of the Marathon.
- Lycabettus Hill - Offering the best view of Athens, this hill is the highest point in the city at 250 meters high. Visitors can see all of Athens and take photos.
- Changing of the Guard Ceremony - Every hour, the Evzones, or armed soldiers, perform the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, a symbol of democracy.
- Temple of Hephaestus - Dating back to the 6th century B.C., this temple is dedicated to the god of weapons. Theseus, the greatest Athenian hero second only to Hercules, is also honored here.
- Roman Agora - The Tower of the Winds, considered the first computer of the world, is an ancient clock that counted days and time, created by Archimedes and Andronikos. The Roman Agora, from the 2nd century A.D., features marble from Thassos Island and includes Hadrian’s Library.
- Plaka - This ancient Greek city dates back to the 7th century B.C. ‘Plaka’ means ‘piece of marble.’ We will drive through for a few minutes so you can take photos of this historic area.
- Ancient Agora of Athens - Dating back to the 5th century B.C., this ancient Greek marketplace was made entirely of marble. It was a bazaar where Greeks bought animals, slaves, and weapons. It also features a temple dedicated to the god of weapons.
- Acropolis - We will make a significant stop here for one hour. The Acropolis, the highest point in the city, includes the Temple of Athena Nike, the Temple of Erechtheion, the Temple of Wingless Victory, the Herodes Atticus Theater, and the Dionysus Theater.
- Tomb of the Unknown Soldier - Visitors can see the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and the changing of the guard every hour. The Parliament House, formerly the palace of King Otto and King Constantine, is a significant monument for visitors.
