Highlights

Athens - Delphi - Kalambaka

Temple of Apollo - Arrive at Delphi around noon. Known for its ancient ruins, including a theater and the Temple of Apollo, Delphi was once considered the center of the earth and universe, playing a pivotal role in classical Greek culture. Upon arrival, explore the mountainside archaeological site and see the Temple of Apollo, renowned for its oracle.

Delphi - One of Greece’s most significant archaeological sites.

Meteora - In the afternoon, after lunch (at your own expense), travel through central Greece and the city of Lamia. After a brief stop in Lamia, continue to the city of Trikala for a short break, then cross the Thessalian Plain to Kalambaka, a small town nestled at the base of the impressive grey rocks topped by the Meteora monasteries. After a brief stop for souvenir shopping, stay overnight in Kalambaka at a centrally located 3- or 4-star hotel of your choice.

Kalambaka - Meteora Monasteries - Athens

Meteora - Depart in the morning for a tour of the nearby Meteora monasteries. Visit two different Byzantine monasteries perched on rock tops, offering stunning views over the plain. Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Built atop sandstone pillars, the monasteries provided monks with completely inaccessible retreats for centuries. Meteora is considered one of the most beautiful areas of mainland Greece, and its monasteries are among its most unique and striking attractions.

Leonidas Monument - On your return to Athens, enjoy an optional visit to a factory producing Byzantine-style icons, and stop for photos at the monument to the heroic Leonidas, King of Sparta, at Thermopylae. The tour returns to Athens in the late afternoon.

Organized tour to an awesome place - This tour was great, Meteora is a place I am so glad we got to visit but also would have been intimidating to try and tackle alone. The tour was organized, well informed, with plenty of time for self exploration and pictures. Would recommend!

Well run tour! - The trip was exactly as explained. Read it carefully so you know what your getting. You travel a long distance on comfortable coach busses, with well timed breaks and stops. You see two amazing sites in Meteora and Delphi. Our guide Evan took great car in making sure everyone's needs were taken care of and that we always knew what was going on. He was an outstanding guide! Two suggestions...meet Infront of Key tours if you can rather than pick up....well worth it to choose the 4 star hotel!

Unbelievable sights - So glad we did the tour. So many interesting facts shared by the tour guide. We could’ve driven on our own but it will not be the same. Our guide explained everything that we’re seeing, the history behind it, and more factoids making it even more interesting. I would highly recommend.

You must take this tour - Absolutely loved Delphi, such a spiritual setting. Awestruck with the Meteora monasteries. Wonderful driver, Theo impressed how he negotiated the coach through the narrow tourist spaces. Thrilled with our most informative and helpful guide, Sofia, learned so much Greek history.

Delphi and Meteora in Greece - The tour is amazing but unfortunately the weather was not so good on the day on Monastry because of the foggy so could not see the view but is was amazing! Worth to see one time in your life. The tour guide a little bit lack of experience, not so good in English, time schedule not suitable , didn’t use earphones so little bit difficult to hear her. Anyway Must go to Delphi and Meteora!

Okay trip, guide can do better job organizing - They should select better place to eat lunch with more options. Lunch break is after 2 pm instead of around 12-1 pm.

Not worth it—book directly through the tour provider - Started with trying to download the app to retrieve tickets. The app would not authenticate. It kept going in a vicious loop of opening the app, then opening the web page when I’d try to authenticate with the link. And then back in the app it would still not be logged in. But mostly when I fell ill the evening leading up to a 2-day excursion (and I mean very ill to the point where I couldn’t keep down a Sprite in the attempts to calm my stomach), they refused to issue any credit or refund. I understand you don’t want people just last minute bailing out of excursions, but how is one supposed to help having come down with a flu the day before because some other person showed up to some tourist activity still sick? The only thing I’ll say is that they had a prompt negative response. At least if I had booked through Key Tours directly they might have had a heart and given even some of my money back.
