Journey to the Heart of Nubia

As a wildlife photographer and travel writer, my adventures often take me to the wildest corners of Africa. This time, however, I found myself drawn to the ancient allure of Egypt, specifically the Abu Simbel Temple in Aswan. The promise of discovering hidden beauty with experienced guides was too tempting to resist. My journey began in the bustling city of Hurghada, and despite the sweltering summer heat, I was eager to embark on this three-day private tour.

The drive from Hurghada to Aswan was long, but my guide, Sameh, made the journey an experience in itself. His passion for Egypt’s history, both ancient and modern, was infectious. As we traveled through the desert landscape, Sameh regaled me with tales of pharaohs and gods, as well as stories of contemporary Egyptians achieving remarkable feats against the odds. The evening was capped off with a felucca ride on the Nile. As the sun set over the river, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink, I felt a deep sense of peace. The gentle sway of the boat, the cool breeze, and the sound of the water lapping against the hull created a moment of pure serenity. Surprises and Sweetness

Perhaps the sweetest surprise of all was the chance to taste the local mangoes. Known for their exceptional flavor, these mangoes were unlike any I had ever tasted. Juicy, fragrant, and bursting with sweetness, they were a delicious treat that perfectly encapsulated the essence of the region.
