Not bad overall - Basically a good tour. Additional/bonus stop at Esna. Organisation very chaotic, start time moved to 7 am rather than 12pm, no real reason. Then a move to 9am was agreed. Welcome to Egypt… Guide at Aswan was good, at Kom Ombo very good, at Edfu not really. The ship/rooms was good, food was good, sundeck as well. Staff in part a bit rude as they constantly think of nothing but their tips, tips, tips, and if you have no bills on hand they make let you know about their dissatisfaction. As if we, as the guests, had not planned to relax, but have nothing else in mind than to have constantly (filthy…) money in our hands to please the staff… Definitely a very negative point. Why don‘t the employers just pay their personnel decent salaries? We overpaid for the trip anyway (our own bad, we could have booked the same for half the money but were too lazy to compare) so there should be no problem at all to do that. It‘s not the tourists‘ responsibility to make up for bad labour conditions and greedy employers. In the end the organiser made up a bit for the organisational chaos by adding luxor museum. Though this is nothing spectacular, the museum in cairo is 100x more interesting.
