It is believed that this obelisk was intended for Queen Hatshepsut, a ruler of the 18th Dynasty and the royal wife of King Tuthmosis II. She was also the owner of a temple on the eastern bank of Luxor. Some also believe it may have belonged to Queen Nefertiti.
- Temple of Philae - Continue to the majestic Philae Temple, built in honor of the Goddess Isis, the chief deity of the island. Afterward, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

Excellent tour in Aswan - Mustafa from Emo Tours collected us early and was the most friendly and very knowledgable guide. The driver was careful and we felt very safe driving to the High Dam first, then the Philae Tenple and finally the Unfinished Obelisk. What a great morning full of amazing history. We had the best time. Mustafa is intelligent and passionate about the history of his country, it was a pleasure to hear him relay it to us.

Amazing Experience with Magdy! - I had the pleasure of having Magdy as our tour guide during my trip to Aswan, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience. From the start, Magdy was incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home. His knowledge of the history and culture was vast and impressive, and he took the time to explain the significance of each site in detail. I had tons of follow up questions and he made sure to answer them all.
We visited some incredible places, including the Philae Temple, Unfinished Obelisk, High Dam, Nubian Village (an add on tour), and Abu Simbel the next day. At each location, Magdy’s insights brought everything to life and made the experience so much more enriching. He was patient, engaging, and always ensured we were comfortable, asking if we needed breaks, drinks or had any questions.
Magdy also made sure to capture plenty of photos of us, which was a thoughtful touch. It was clear he genuinely cared about our experience, and his attention to detail was outstanding.
If I ever return to Egypt, booking a tour with Magdy would absolutely be a top priority. His warm personality, expertise, and commitment to making the tour memorable truly set him apart. I traveled to three cities while in Egypt and my experience with him was a highlight for my trip. Highly recommend!

I have become captivated by the city of Aswan. - The female guide was incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, which deeply impressed me.
She spoke very elegant English and was a well-educated, beautiful person.
Since my tour started in the afternoon, there were no other tourists around, and I was able to enjoy a luxurious, private experience.
She also helped me negotiate prices for souvenirs, which was very reassuring.
However, since I took my time during the tour, I feel sorry for possibly delaying her preparations for Iftar while she was in Ramadan.
She is not only an amazing guide but also a kind and caring mother.
The driver was also very professional, driving safely and making me feel at ease.
I am truly grateful to both of them!
Next time, I will visit Aswan with my family!”

Would come back in a heartebeat - We did a day trip with Emo Tours ans Samir Gaber. I can't recommend both highly enough. Samir was fantastic: incredibly knowledgeable and lovely to spend the day with. We flew into Aswan early in the morning and did Aswan, Philae Island, Abu Simbel, then came back to Philae Island for the light and sound show. My only wish is that was stayed longer to see more of Aswan and explore the Nubian culture of the area. That gives us a good reason to come back!

Amazing day in Aswan - We joined a day tour in Aswan with the guide Samir Gaber. It was a very amazing day. Samir explained a lot of history and stories in Egypt and Aswan. He responded very well to our requests and was willing to go the extra mile to assist us. Would be my pleasure to recommend this tour and the guide Samir to everyone for your visit to Egypt and Aswan.

Rough Start, but a Good Tour in the End - Had a rough start to the tour. Because of poor communication from the company and/or guide, we waited in the airport for an hour before being picked up. Didn't start us on a good foot. We did visit all the places listed with enough time to see everything. A bonus was that they were filming at Philae Temple so our guide pointed out a couple of Egypt's movie stars; she was very excited to get her picture with one of them, and I found it fun to pose with another. To do over we would take just the car and driver. It worked well to have them pick us up at the airport and drop us off at our hotel-saved a taxi ride.
