• Basilica di Santa Chiara - The Basilica of Saint Clare is a church dedicated to Saint Clare of Assisi, a devoted follower of Saint Francis of Assisi and the founder of the Order of Poor Ladies, now known as the Order of Saint Clare. Her remains are housed here.
• Chiesa Nuova - Constructed in 1615 on the site believed to be the home of St. Francis, this building showcases Renaissance architectural design. The brick façade is divided by four pillars supporting a Doric entablature, topped with an attic gable and a hemispherical dome.
• Piazza del Comune - Situated where the ancient Roman Forum once stood, this rectangular square is dominated by the impressive Rocca Maggiore. It begins at the end of Corso Mazzini, which links it to the Basilica of Santa Chiara. On the right, visitors can admire the 16th-century “fountain of the three lions,” redesigned in 1762 by Giovanni Martinucci.
• Santa Maria sopra Minerva - The Temple of Minerva, an ancient Roman structure, currently houses the church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva. Built in 1539 and renovated in the Baroque style in the 17th century, the temple was originally constructed in the 1st century by Gnaeus Caesius and Titus Caesius Priscus, two of the city’s quattuorviri who also funded its construction.
• Basilica Papale e Sacro Convento di San Francesco d’Assisi - The Basilica of Saint Francis of Assisi serves as the mother church of the Roman Catholic Order of Friars Minor Conventual in Assisi, a town in the Umbria region of central Italy, where Saint Francis was born and passed away.
• Basilica Papale e Sacro Convento di San Francesco d’Assisi - This luminous and spacious basilica features a single four-bay nave with a cross-vaulted ceiling adorned with patterns of crosses and leaves, a transept, and a polygonal apse. The four ribbed vaults are beautifully decorated with alternating golden stars on a blue background and paintings.

• A dress code is required to enter places of worship and selected museums. No shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders MUST be covered for both men and women. You may risk refused entry if you fail to comply with these dress requirements
• On Sundays, major Catholic holidays, national holidays, and on October 3rd and 4th, guided tours inside the Basilica of St. Francis are not permitted. On these dates, your guide will provide an explanation from outside the church, after which you will enter independently and in silence.
• On October 4th, the Basilica of St. Francis is closed to visitors.
