We will drive you up the famous Blue Ridge Parkway to our favorite sunrise spot (located at 5,000 ft. above sea level!) After a short, 10 minute hike, we will arrive at…
Experience the sunrise from up in the mountains! This is Asheville’s only sunrise tour and you will get a front row seat to one of the greatest experiences in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We will drive you up the famous Blue Ridge Parkway to our favorite sunrise spot (located at 5,000 ft. above sea level!) After a short, 10 minute hike, we will arrive at our spot and your guide will brew some fresh local coffee. We will enjoy delicious local coffee as we watch the sun come up over the mountains!
Your guide will also provide alternative drinks if you aren’t a coffee drinker. We will bring a variety of teas and hot chocolate.
We will take care of the details like cups, creamers, sugar, and mini Kind and Cliff Bars for you to enjoy!
- A minimum of 2 participants are needed to run this tour
- Weather - Mountain weather is extremely unpredictable. We do our best to make sure the conditions are good for a sunrise but we cannot guarantee visibility on every trip. Fog and clouds can come through in minutes. As a result, clear viewing of the sunrise is not guaranteed, but we will try our best to get you to see the sunrise. If there is rain in the forecast for your tour, your guide will reach out before the trip to discuss alternative options such as moving to a different date. If the weather becomes dangerous and we must cancel the trip, you will receive a full refund.
- Dress Warm! Always dress warmer than you think you need to. With swift changing weather and high elevations, it is often 15 degrees colder than the temperature in Asheville. Dress in layers, and bring an extra jacket, you can always leave it in the van if you are warm enough.
- Road Closures and Trail Conditions - This tour operated on National Forest land and on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Trails and roads could be closed at any time for a number of reasons. Sometimes we have a heads up about these changes but oftentimes we do not get much warning. If factors outside of our control affect our tour we will take an alternate route (road or trail) to still provide you with an amazing sunrise view. These alternate routes may require more or less hiking than the normal described route. In any event, your guide will communicate with you about the changes.

We will meet in the lower parking lot of Bent Creek Baptists Church. When you see the sign, keep driving until you see the large parking area near the road. You will see the Asheville Adventure vehicle there with the headlights on.

Beautiful view - The Jeep tour was so beautiful. Great conversation and coffee to go along side the gorgeous views. Would highly recommend for locals and visitors.

A definite must! - The tour was one of our favorites of the trip. The guide was friendly and informative and entertained us with historical snippets on the ride up and local recommendations on the way down. The tour starts early but it was so worth it to start the day with incredible views and fantastic coffee. We would definitely do this again.

Here Comes the Sun! - We met at 5 am for the Jeep ride up to the Blue Ridge Parkway. 6 of us braved the early hour with Sutton our guide. It was a short hike from the parking area to the overlook to see the sun. He provided tea and coffee along with interesting stories and information. I don't have words to describe watching the darkness of the night become lit with blue shadows, then an orange glow washed across the beautiful trees and majestic mountains. That would have been enough but at that moment the brilliant sun peeked over the mountain top and rapidly moved to shower all of us in sunlight. It was WOW! Sutton was an fun and knowledgeable guide and made the experience perfect! Great tour!

Can't wait to adventure with Asheville Adventures again! - Awesome experience! Guide knew where to go, and when to stop because of fog that wasn't going to allow us to see the sunrise. The view was amazing. Even gave us a great recommendation for breakfast when we got back!

Anniversary Monring - Carter was wonderful and knowledgeable. He let us switch day when there was a thunderstorm. The Mountain View’s were breathtaking, coffee was delicious (I am a coffee snob), and conversation was delightful. We had such a wonderful time. It was a wonderful way to star our anniversary!

Serene Sunrise - My Saturday morning sunrise tour turned out to be impressive! We learned a bit about the parkway on our way up and then had a short walk to our awesome outlook. While we took in the calm and beauty of the setting, our guide, Ivana, made coffee. It was a perfect way to start the day and enjoy the beauty of the area. We also had a great group. It was small enough that we could spread out, but everyone was friendly and appreciative of the environment around us.

Sunrise and Coffee Hike - We had the best time on our Sunrise and Coffee Hike. Brian was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. The coffee was amazing and the views were spectacular. We even got to see a baby bear cross the road on the parkway beneath us while we were waiting for the sun to come up! Clayton made it easy to schedule, even though it was lat minute. I highly recommend their tours!
