Arusha - Tarangire National Park:
Tarangire National Park - Following a morning safari briefing and a roughly two-hour drive, you’ll reach Tarangire National Park. The park’s giant baobab trees, bush savannah, and seasonal marshes contribute to its natural beauty. It’s renowned as one of the top spots to observe elephants up close. Additionally, the park hosts buffaloes, zebras, and wildebeests, often trailed by predators like lions. While leopards are occasionally seen, cheetahs are rare. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you can take in the scenery and watch the wildlife. In the late afternoon, you’ll depart the park and head to Tarangire Osupuko Lodge for an overnight stay.
Cultural Heritage Centre - Situated in Arusha, Tanzania, the Arusha Cultural Heritage Centre showcases the history and culture of over 120 Tanzanian tribes in one location. The center features various carvings, gemstones, artifacts, clothing, and books.
Lake Manyara National Park:
Lake Manyara National Park - After breakfast, you’ll journey from the Tarangire Area to Lake Manyara National Park. The park is famous for its 400+ bird species, primate-filled forests, and grassy plains. A significant portion of the park is occupied by the alkaline Lake Manyara, a seasonal breeding ground for large flamingo colonies and other waterfowl. The park also houses giraffes, hippos, wildebeests, impalas, and groups of noisy monkeys and baboons. Following an extensive game drive, you’ll head to Eileen’s Trees Inn for an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park:
Serengeti National Park - After an early breakfast, you’ll set off for the world-renowned Serengeti National Park. The drive, though lengthy, is spectacular and unforgettable for first-time visitors. As you venture deeper into the Serengeti, you’ll understand why its name means “endless plains” in the local language. Spanning 6,900 sq. miles (18,000 sq. km), the plains stretch to the horizon, challenging your sense of distance. The park is home to the Great Migration, with 2 million wildebeests, hundreds of thousands of zebras, and various antelopes. It’s also a prime location for spotting Big Cats and large predators, including lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas, with many famous river crossing scenes filmed here.
Full Day at Serengeti National Park:
Serengeti National Park - Spend the entire day game viewing in Serengeti National Park. The areas you visit will depend on the location of the migrating herds. Predators, such as lions, leopards (in acacia trees), and cheetahs, typically follow the herds. During the short rainy season in November and December, the herds move from the northern hills to the southern plains. In the longer rainy season from April to June, they return north. Since the migration depends on annual rainfall, the herds’ locations vary yearly, but your guide will know where to find them. You’ll spend another night at Embalakai Tented Camp on a Full Board basis.
Serengeti National Park – Karatu – Coffee Walk:
Karatu - On your way out of the park, you’ll enjoy more game viewing before leaving Serengeti National Park in the early afternoon to continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon reaching the edge of the Ngorongoro Crater, you’ll be treated to a breathtaking view of the giant caldera below. You’ll then drive to Karatu in the Ngorongoro highlands, where you’ll join a coffee plantation walk to learn about coffee cultivation and processing. You’ll spend the night at Hhando Coffee Lodge on a Full Board basis.
Karatu – Ngorongoro Crater – Karatu Area:
Ngorongoro Crater - Rise and shine! After an early breakfast, you’ll head back to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend into the crater. This massive collapsed volcano is home to over 25,000 mammals, including the Big Five – lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard – as well as spotted hyenas, rare wild dogs, and over 500 bird species. After an extensive game drive and a picnic lunch, you’ll leave the caldera in the afternoon and return to Hhando Coffee Lodge for another night.
Karatu - Drive Back to Arusha:
Arusha - After a leisurely breakfast, you’ll travel back to Arusha, arriving around midday. You’ll be dropped off in the city center or at the airport.
