Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park - Your safari kicks off in the morning with a drive to Tarangire National Park, which spans approximately 2,600 square kilometers, about the size of Luxembourg. The park’s landscape features bush savannah, seasonal swamps, and towering baobab trees, making it one of the premier spots in East Africa to observe elephants. From the open roof of your safari vehicle, you’ll have the opportunity to watch these majestic creatures and take in the scenery. Besides elephants, the park is home to Masai giraffes, various gazelles, antelopes, buffaloes, lions, leopards, baboons, and over 500 species of birds. After an extensive game drive, you’ll head to Karatu for an overnight stay.
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, you’ll journey to Serengeti National Park for a full-day game drive, complete with a picnic lunch. Here, a million wildebeest follow their ancient migratory patterns, embodying the timeless cycle of life. The Serengeti offers a unique sensory experience with its breathtaking scenery, dynamic lighting, and captivating wildlife. Animals in the park don’t adhere to a schedule, so you may encounter lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, cheetahs, antelopes, gazelles, hippos, and numerous bird and reptile species during your game drive. Depending on the season, your guide will know the best spots to visit, whether in the central park area or elsewhere.
Half-Day Serengeti to Ngorongoro Highland
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Set out on an exhilarating half-day game drive through the legendary Serengeti, where the vast plains teem with Africa’s vibrant wildlife. Observe the elegant movements of giraffes, the powerful herds of wildebeest, and perhaps even spot elusive big cats stalking through the tall grass. As the sun sets, say goodbye to the Serengeti’s wonders and travel to Ngorongoro.
Ngorongoro Wild Camp offers a rustic yet comfortable retreat surrounded by nature. Settle into your cozy accommodation, enveloped by the soothing sounds of the wilderness. Enjoy a hearty meal under the starlit sky, sharing tales of the day’s adventures around a crackling campfire.
As night falls, soak in the tranquil ambiance of Ngorongoro, where the distant calls of nocturnal creatures lull you to sleep. Dream of the next day’s explorations as you drift off under the expansive African sky, knowing that more unforgettable safari experiences await.
Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - After an early breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater via a steep, narrow road. The forested slopes give way to savannah dotted with occasional acacia trees. The wildlife here is spectacular, and with some luck, you might spot the Big Five—lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. The crater also hosts warthogs, wildebeests, zebras, hippos, hyenas, and many more species. Following a morning of game viewing and a picnic lunch, you’ll leave the crater in the afternoon and head to Karatu for an overnight stay.
Some interesting facts about craters:
The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest volcanic caldera, formed by a massive volcanic explosion 2 to 3 million years ago, once towering higher than Kilimanjaro. The crater spans 304 square kilometers, is 600 meters deep, and has a diameter of 20 kilometers.
Lake Manyara National Park To Arusha
Lake Manyara National Park - Nestled where the northern Tanzanian plains meet the Rift Valley escarpment, Lake Manyara is an ideal spot for a safari day. Highlights may include close encounters with the elephants that have made the park famous, numerous baboons, and one of the few lion populations in Africa that spend much of their time in trees. Between the forests at the base of the escarpment and the lake that gives the park its name, you’ll enjoy rich birdlife and the chance to see predators ambushing their prey.
This marks the end of your Tanzanian safari. We hope you enjoyed your trip and are already planning your next adventure.
