The Indigenous Caquito people of Aruba were drawn to this site thousands of years ago, leaving behind rock paintings, known as pictographs, that can still be admired today. A pathway leads to the top of these enormous boulders, offering breathtaking views of Aruba’s landscape and, often, the coast of Venezuela, perfect for capturing memorable photographs.

• Natural Bridge Aruba - Although the Natural Bridge in Aruba, once a magnificent geological formation, collapsed in 2005, the location remains a popular destination due to the nearby Baby Bridge and the stunning coastal scenery.

• Bushiribana Gold Mill Ruins - The Caribbean’s first gold processing operation was established in Aruba at Bushiribana around 1872. Visitors can explore the ruins where ore from the surrounding hills was crushed. Discover how manpower extracted the ore and donkeys transported it to this gold mill. Today, the site features remnants of the mill’s stone walls, chimneys, and arches, showcasing 19th-century industrial architecture. Guests can freely explore the area, walking through the ruins and climbing the remaining staircases for sweeping views of the Caribbean Sea. A fascinating piece of Aruba’s history!

• Alto Vista Chapel - The Alto Vista Chapel is considered the heart of Aruba and is a must-see attraction. This quaint chapel is perched on a picturesque hill overlooking the scenic northern coastline. Originally constructed in 1750, the Alto Vista Chapel was the first place of worship in Aruba. The Alto Vista hill served as a spiritual site for the Caquito Indians for centuries before the arrival of Europeans. It represents a profound and historical aspect of Aruba’s culture.

• California Lighthouse - Known locally as Faro Blanco, the California Lighthouse stands proudly on a limestone plateau at Hudishibana, overlooking the Sasariwichi Dunes. The lighthouse was named after the steamship “California,” which was wrecked nearby on September 23, 1891. Visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the island while stretching their legs. If available, guests can pay an additional fee to an attendant to enter the lighthouse.
