Highlights

It takes around 20 minutes to reach the Vimy site. We have one car that can accommodate up to four passengers. At the Canada National Vimy Memorial, you will see: - the new interpretation centre, the underground Grange tunnel, and restored trenches. - Canadian Cemetery N°2 and Givenchy Road Canadian Cemetery. - the Moroccan Division Memorial. - the Monument. The memorial at Vimy is Canada’s largest war memorial. It is dedicated to the memory of the 66,000 Canadians who died during the First World War. Canadian sculptor and architect Walter Seymour Allward captured the emotion of a nation faced with the sacrifice of its fellow citizens, as well as Canada’s deeply held values of peace and freedom. The memorial site is on land given to Canada in thanks by the people of France. It offers an impressive view overlooking the plain of Artois. During the Great War, in France, in the north-Pas-de-Calais, at Vimy, near Arras, Canada was recognized by this battle as a free and independent nation. Dedicated to peace and remembrance, the Canadian Vimy Memorial, the most prestigious Canadian monument in Europe, was erected to commemorate this hard battle of the trenches, to celebrate the birth of the Canadian nation and to ensure that this great War is the last. There are English and French speaking guides in the interpretation centre. The rest of your visit to the site is self-guided. Points of Interest - Canadian National Vimy Memorial - RMB transports

Great guide - Michel took my family to Vimy Ridge and went out of his way to stop at The Ligny St-Flochel British cemetery where my Great Uncle is lay to rest. Michel was a great guide; he was very informative about the area's history during WW1.

Highly recommended guide - Our guide Michel was very good at communicating from the beginning of our booking. When asked if we could go a bit earlier than our booking, he was flexible and accomodating. We received so much information of historical sites, general information of Arras. on our return from vimy to our drop off location, Michel took a different route to show us further sites such as commonwealth & German cemetery. He tailored the tour to accommodate both in French and for my husband who only spoke English. This was greatly appreciated, I could not recommend more as a guide, worth every penny. Had we not have to continue with our trip, we would have probably hired for a different tour. Merci Michel pour le tour et l’attention au détails.

Everything good you read in the reviews is true - We just finished our trip to Vimy Ridge from the train station in Arras and Michel was the final piece in a great day. He communicated well (in English if you need it). He was on time and his car was clean and included bottled water for us. On the way he pointed out sites of interest and gave us some good tips about the Vimy Ridge Memorial. When we were done he was on time and returned us to Arras via a different route and pulled over a few times to point out sites of interest. He was born in this area and has a good perspective on things. At the end he dropped us off about 10 minutes from the train station in the town plaza (which is beautiful). We got to have french pastries and take a leisurely walk through the town back to the train station. I would recommend Michel and his company for any transportation needs in the Arras area. Merci, Michel!

Lovely little stroll down memory lane! - Michel is very welcoming upon his arrival, throughout the journey he shares his knowledge on the subject of the Battle of Vimy and the surrounding area. He offered us bottles of water, which was much appreciated with the temperature and the length of the visit.

Definitely worth the experience! - Visiting the Vimy Ridge Memorial was well worth the day trip from Paris. Michel made the experience most enjoyable because of his knowledge of the history and the surrounding area which included different cemeteries of different countries. We highly recommend using this company. Simply the Best!

Great way of getting to and seeing Vimy Ridge from Arras. - Michel picked me up on time from my hotel. Then transported me in his car to Vimy Ridge. Gave me information about the area we were travelling, and what to expect at Vimy Ridge. Told me where to go for my tour and and other details that I needed. Arranged to meet back up after my tour at Vimy. The volunteer guides at Vimy Ridge were excellent, and very knowledgeable. So good exploring the tunnels and trenches there. Then you can walk upto the monument and visit the 2 cemetries. On the way back, Michel stopped at a large French cemetery and then at a large German cemetery. Michel was very friendly and full of knowledge, and made the tour very enjoyable. Even though the tour was 3 hours, it was not rushed and time was not a problem.
