One of my best trips - Hands down one of my best trips in the last 10 yrs. So well organized and planned. Absolutely no hick ups. All the drivers, guides and tour van were fabulous. Highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to travel to Turkey. Even the ground support team was so efficient and prompt.

Wonderful holidays in Turkey - My family and I had a wonderful trip in Turkey thanks to Tour Altinkum Travel. Their agents, Kerem, Sedef and Ali were always ready to help, providing us with a daily programme and useful information. The guides, Okan, Furkan, Mehmet,Foonda and Erdi, as well as the drivers, were very professional and punctual. The balloon flight in Cappadocia was a delightful experience, with breakfast and champagne served upon landing. The domestic flights were always on time and hassle-free. The hotels were comfortable, with a polite and courteous staff. I strongly recommend Tour Altinkum Travel for that tour. Our holidays in Turkey were wonderful thanks to them!

Appreciation on Altinkum Tour for their excellent service and very professional tour guides - I would like to give my two thumbs up for Altinkum Tour for their superb and excellent service on organizing my tour journey in Turkey. Not only smooth journey but they always send us an update recap itinerary and reconfirm all the tour pick up and flights if any one day prior tour ur without fail. Most importantly when we encounter problems they respond super fast and immediately. I am very grateful for their excellent customer support service and very much appreciate with their tour guide service Mr. Ogun and Ms. Hattice. Both of them are very knowledgeable, very passionate on doing their jobs. I highly recommend Altinkum Tour and these 2 guides if you’re planning in your Turkey trips.

Good tour but with rooms for improvements - This was my first time joining a local tour through Viator and I was impressed with the speed and way with which Tour Altinkum responded to all my questions before and during the trip. They were very organized in terms of communication, transportation, and pick ups. The pick ups from and to the airports very quick and smooth without long waits. The tourists guides in Istanbul, Ephesus, and Cappadocia were all knowledgeable. They provided very detailed history of Istanbul and the attractions. Having said that, there were things I would like to point out. 1. There was not enough time given to see the major attractions. For example, We had to skip some of the rooms at the Topkapi Palace as there were long lines up and the tourist guide said the rooms were all the same. We ended the day before 4 pm that day. I did not see why we could not see other rooms since we had paid so much for the entrance fee. The itinerary said that we would be dropped off to our hotels after visiting the Grand Bazaar but the guide took us to a Turkish Delight shop outside of the Grand Bazaar and left us there to shop and make our way back to the hotel ourselves (One word of advice: the prices at this shop were way higher than any other shops I had seen. Compare prices before you buy). Another example is the Goreme open Museum in Cappadocia. After a brief guided tour we were only given 30 minutes to see three cave churches/houses which all had high and uneven stairs and required lots of climbing. I had to rush and climb so fast in order to see everything that my thighs hurt for days afterwards. I didn't see the reason for giving us so little time to explore as we finished the tour quite early that day. 3. The advertised itineraries were misleading. For example, on Day 7 in Cappadocia, it was advertised that we would spend 60 minutes each at Rose Valley and Red Valley, in Cavusin, and in Pigeon valley. We were only taken to the top of a hill where we overlooked all these places and took photos for 15 minutes. Also, it was advertised that we would go to the famous Kaymakli underground city. When I received the written itinerary, it got changed to Ozkonak underground city. I emailed Viator and asked them why they changed it, the response said Kaymakli was difficult for seniors. But they added that we could make a request to the tourist guide to go there instead. On the day of the tour, the tourist guide explained to the group that these underground cities were all the same, Kaymakli was more crowded and there would be a bit of a wait in the tunnels so those who were claustrophobic might have a problem. But the reason I wanted to go to Turkey was to see the famous Kaymakli underground city! He asked the group to make a vote and majority chose to go to the easier one (Ozkonak) and I was quite disappointed. If that's whey they were going to bring us they should change the name of the underground city in their advertised itinerary and say Ozkonak instead. 4. The tours on the days we had to fly out ended too early, wasting our time. On the days when we had to fly to another city, we were told to check out early and leave the luggage at the hotel lobby. Twice, the departure flights were around 8:30pm and the pick up time to the airport was around 6 pm. But the tours of the days ended so early (like 3 or 4 pm) that we just sat and waited at the hotel for hours doing nothing when we could have been given more time to spend at the attractions. 5. The hotel we got in Istanbul was Antea Hotel Old City instead of Celal Sultan Special Class or similar as advertised. Altinkum Tour told us that Celal Sultan was not available on our tour days. The Antea Hotel was old, the rooms were small, and the service was terrible. We requested rooms with two twin beds, the first day they gave us a queen and a cot (which was quite uncomfortable). They next day they gave us two twin beds after my complaint. Then on Day 7 after returning to Istanbul from Cappadocia at 1 am, they gave us a tiny room with a broken thermostat. The room was so hot with no air or ventilation and so small that we could not even open our two big luggage. I phoned to complain and the night manager sent a staff with an electric oscillating fan! I demanded to change room and then he took a card key out from his pocket and took us to a much bigger and nicer room with a working thermostat.. (He could have just taken us to this room in the first place since it was unoccupied rather than bringing us a fan!). The service of this hotel is terrible and not "similar" class to Celal Sultan Special Class at all because we stayed at Celal Sultan the next day as we stayed behind Istanbul one extra day on my own. Celal Sultan is way superior than Antea Hotel Old City in every way and it is 3 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia. (The quoted hotel prices in expedia were similar) In summary, the downsides were: the day tours were too short, we were not given enough time for the attractions, some advertisements were misleading, hotel in Istanbul was poor. Other than these, the overall experience with Tur Altinkum was good.

Happy customer - This was an amazingly well organised trip. Drivers and guides met us at designated times with no delays or errors. Communication through WhatsApp was timely and clear. Places we visited were unique and amazing and well worth the visit. House of virgin Mary was a bit of a non-event but everything else great.

Do not use this company - I wouldn't do this trip. We had 4 different guides in the cities and only 1 (Ogun) was good. The logistics were not planned out well and we did a lot of unnecessary driving, one day we drove almost 5 hours. In addition we have small kids and they put their room on a different floor of the hotel, when I tried to contact them for help I did not get a response for 10 hours later. Your only contact is a what's app txt that has sparse information about the day. Another time I texted a question in the morning about the day's itinerary and didn't get a response for 3 hours. We had 3 domestic flights and had to check ourselves in online. It would have actually been quicker to drive than fly for one of these cities. One of the airlines was somewhat like a spirit or frontier and the tickets the company booked were not together, when mentioning that they didn't help or care. I feel half of our vacation was spent in an airport. Also the price quoted is false it is about an extra $1000 USD because entry to all the sites is not included. Lastly, the ad on TripAdvisor that we booked said there will never be more than 12 people on the tour, we had 14. I texted them about this and they said " We provide small group tours and sometimes number of participants can go up to 16 people" . Bottom line. Don't use them, read the itinerary and set up yourself.
