This modern city boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. Built amphitheatrically, Argostoli offers views of the Koutavos Lagoon and the fir-covered Aenos. Visitors can witness the rare phenomenon at Katavothres, where large volumes of seawater enter the land at Agii Theodori in Lassi and reappear near the village of Karavomylos by Sami.

- Melissani Cave - The magnificent cave of the nymph Melissani and the ancient Greek God Panas has been a part of Kefalonia since mythical times, first explored in 1951. An earthquake created an opening in the cave’s roof, allowing sunlight to create a stunning display of blue and turquoise waters. Visitors can explore the lake cave by boat and see the small island where ancient ceremonies were held in honor of God Panas and the nymphs.
- Drogarati Cave - Drogarati Cave, one of the largest and most beautiful natural attractions near Sami, is estimated by archaeologists to be over 100 million years old. The cave is about 60 meters deep, with an average temperature of 18°C and high humidity (90%). It is a 15-minute drive from Melissani Lake to Drogarati Cave, and visitors typically spend 30 minutes exploring the site.
