An amazing day out - I’ll do this in point form as my original review didn’t go through and then it was ‘lost’. * A terrific day out!!! * Our guide, Rosa, was very informative and personable * The estancia was in a beautiful setting with an attractive, historic main building, a beautiful lawn and trees that you sat under to eat lunch *Very tasty food and delicious empanadas * friendly, helpful staff * a very enjoyable horse ride for at least an hour * entertainment after lunch was good... singing and dancing and group participation if you were interested. * The horse whisperer at the end was amazing. He had the horse laying upside down with its legs in the air as he was lying on top of it!! * only small groups.. maybe 70 people in all. No bus loads of cruise ship passengers. Much more intimate. * A great day out. I loved it.

A Day To Remember - We did 4 tours over our trip to Santiago and Buenos Aires and this was hands down the best experience for our family of 10. First off we had Pablo as our tour guide for the full day and he was nothing short of fantastic. His knowledge of Argentina as a whole and his comfort with our family which included 4 kids under 15 was amazing. The horse back riding was perfect for our family as many had never done it before so it gave you a great taste of what it was like without major risks. The lunch was a true Argentinian meat eating experience outside under the shade of the huge trees. All I will say is come hungry. Wonderful day and would recommend this to anyone touring Argentina for the first time.

Estancia San Antonio de Areco - Picked up at our hotel in a lovely air conditioned mini bus. Laura was our guide and was very knowledgable. The journey took around 90 minutes and after a quick look around the village and the silver museum we went to the ranch. A short horse ride was followed by a large lunch with various meat cuts.... and the meat kept coming and coming. We were sat under the tree in the shade and it was a lovely afternoon. Then it was the local gaucho music and dancing followed by the horse whisperer. An excellent afternoon and well worth a visit

Wonderful day made all the better by our hardworking guide - Pablo. - Friendly guide with excellent command of English collected us on schedule from our central hotel. Thoughtful stop and lots of local information en route. Warmest welcome from the Estancia El Ombro - the delighful lady was sister of the owner. Delicious empanadas. Short but fun horse ride across the Pampas on beautiful horses. Delicious lunch with drinks. Show of local music and dance. Grand finale from a Gaucho with his horse. A wonderful day.

Mixed review here ! - The tour generally was well worth it.....but I would have preferred a guide who didn't feel he/she needed to be a performer and stand up comedian with a shtick. I was particularly offended by Pablo's continued use of the "N" word when discussing social and class distinctions in Argentina. I know he could have addressed the issue without calling himself a "Ni**er" so many times - alluding to his skin coloring - but like a second rate performer, he was "playing to the crowd"- or so he thought. We travelers are often beseached to be cognizant and respectful of the cultures we are visiting. Well, the opposite needs also be observed: Pablo knows that the "N" term is hateful, disgusting and blatantly racist to a good portion of travelers from many English speaking areas. Nonetheless, he was grossly insensitive and seemed to be promoting a type of reflection in a manner that was totally undignified, with an expectation that we his audience should laugh and agree, Cultural sensitivity training needed here, Signature!

I want to go back now! - We had an excellent excursion to San Antonio de Areco by the hand of a great guide that can be carried out in groups in three languages: English, Spanish and Portuguese, so nobody was left out of the explanations. Some ride horses, my parents have done it in a carriage and have enjoyed the folkloric dance, of course, the topic "asado Argentine". And like a gift, we took, "mate" with the guide, Marcela Avila, who invite us to a little of their customs.

Signature Tour to San Antonio and Estancia el Ombu - Picked up at hotel by Pablo and Garston. 3 hrs with all hotel pickups before we arrived in San Antonio. Pablo extremely informative on all matters Argentina and Gauchos. Quick visit to San Antonio de Areco before arriving at the Estancia. Horse or carriage ride then welcome pastries and lunch. Following lunch we watched local singing and dancing with the opportunity to take part if you so wished. We then witnessed what for us was the main event of the day the gauchos horsemanship. We saw a presentation of horse whispering. Excellent but we were disappointed as we expected to see far more with the horses a demonstration of their skills with the cattle etc. A good day out but not quite what we expected.
