Today, its ruins maintain the genuine medieval atmosphere. Visitors can reach it by climbing 1,480 steps, and the breathtaking views along with tales of bravery and strategy make the visit truly memorable.
IMPORTANT: Access to Cetatea Poenari is subject to updates from local authorities regarding bear activity in the area. If access is restricted for safety reasons, the presentation will occur at the mountain’s base, without entry to the fortress itself.
Additionally, in adverse weather conditions, visiting the fortress is not advised for safety reasons.
