An excellent walk through a Tokyo neighborhood and historic cemetery. - The tour began by visiting a large cemetery quite interesting, particularly learning the intersection of Buddhism and Shintoism. The time in the cemetery was a bit long. The fee was excellent, the atmosphere was excellent as our guide made us comfortable. We were a coupe with just one other couple so crows size was excellent. The remainder of out tour was through streets and byways of a residential area with local opportunities for food and purchase of goods. Also numerous visits to temples and shrines. Our guide was good but a bit hard to hear from time to time. ( We are old.)

A delightful morning walk in Tokyo - I traveled extensively in Japan 25 years ago and my wife had been there but once. On our recent return we had an evening in Tokyo set aside for dinner with an old friend followed by a free morning before heading to our next destination. We chose to take the opportunity for a casual Yanaka Walking Tour. Our guide, Igarashi-San, was delightful. On our walk we enjoyed the old and the new of this part of Tokyo, learned more about Japanese culture, explored Japanese customs in an old cemetery, came to understand the A-Un symbolism of the Japanese Komainu (lion-dogs) and the contrast to Chinese shishi and passed through the Torii gates at Nezu Shrine. We wrapped up our walk with an old favorite - Sapporo beer at Yanaka Ginza. Great fun! Thanks Igarashi-San for taking the photos!

Iconic Yanaka - Guide Charlotte was warm and friendly and knowledgeable. I enjoyed our walking tour of Yanaka and there was a good diverse mix of sights to see. Charlotte provided good memories of an interesting neighborhood of Tokyo. I would recommend this tour especially to newcomers to Japan as it’s a great introduction to an iconic area of Tokyo. Thanks!! What’s app contact info doesn’t seem accurate so please update as Charlotte didn’t receive my messages.

A leisurely half-day in the valley - Tanaka, unlike other parts of Tokyo, has a historic neighborhood, and a half-day exploration sees the flashes of Japanese daily life. The combination of temples, mausoleums and communities is impressive, and the small shops and shopkeepers on the streets always offer plenty of surprises. Thank you for your kind words. Next time you have a chance to visit Tokyo together.

Warning! Do not book this ahead because it’s impossible to change dates even for a valid reason - Tour operator would not allow us to change dates. We showed up at the right date and time, but the weather was pre-hurricane like with high winds and rain. Made difficulties to walk or see anything. They would not allow us to change to another date.
