Mageirotechneio Taverna Paraga - The tour starts in the unspoilt mountain village of Apollona nestled on the foothills of Profitis Ilias.
First, you will stop for a quick tour of an all-women’s agricultural co-operative and learn how these proud, resourceful women run their enterprise and why they decided to do so. Here you will see them making one of their local delicacies and be introduced to all their products.
From there, after a relaxing walk through the village, you will visit a local winery and learn about various Rhodian grape varieties. Here, after sampling some local wines you will understand first-hand why Rhodes produces many award-winning wines.
The highlight of the tour will be a cooking class from an expert local cook in the village who will share her secrets in making traditional, famous Greek dishes including tzatziki and aubergine salad. Learn how to make dolmadakia and Greek cheese pies too!
Finally, you conclude your time in Apollona by feasting on the exceptional lunch that you and your fellow cooks have lovingly prepared.
Before you leave Apollona, you will visit a traditional Greek Kafeneion and learn how to prepare the most traditional Greek Coffee and of course sample one for yourselves!

Taste of Rhodes - Panos was an excellent guide, knowledgeable, interesting and patient! We got to see and taste Rhodes in a unique way, and we are bringing back recipes to try at home! Overall a great day!

Great tour! - Great time with the team from Trekking Hellas! Maria and Tsambiko were excellent guides, combining information, history, humor and a clear love of their island to bring a few of us on a food and village life journey. When on holiday, it is easy to overlook the simple things - the women owned bakery, the traditional cafe, the plants and gardens, the local history- but not on this tour! The highlight of course was the chef showing us how to make some classic Greek dishes - and eat them! Very much enjoyed the experience and would do it again in a Greek minute.

The Best Day Ever - We joined Maria in Apollona where our tour began at the bakery. The history of the collective and its members was fascinating but the food was fantastic! We progress to the cooking class where we learned to make some classics of Greek cuisine. It was well planned and so much fun. On to wine tasting at a local winery with education on wines. We went back to the restaurant and enjoyed our prepared meal. Fantastic in every way. The day ended with Greek style coffee. We could not have had a better day. It is surely one of our highlights! Thank you 🙏🏼 Maria for such an exceptional job. I would do it again and again!!!!!!

A great day out! Perfect for couples or groups of friends. - We had a lovely experience today! The guide is very friendly and knowledgeable. Sometimes these sorts of things can feel uncomfortable but this felt very relaxed and easy going. The food and drinks were delicious (and plentiful) and all staff members at each location were friendly.
If you are planning a trip to Rhodes we recommend you add this to your list of things ‘to do’.

Beat tour in Rhodes! - Panos, our enthusiatic and knowledgeabke guide was the perfect host on an unforgettable trip around the small villages, winery, coffee bar and cooking class tavern.
A great tour, we thouroughly recommend and the food we created tasted great after sampling the local wines.
The walk through the little village was also a delight sampling fruit direct from overhanging trees and learning all the local history.

Incredible experience - Absolutely incredible experience. The guide was incredibly knowledgeable and the food was absolutely delicious. I am looking forward to coming back to Rhodes to enjoy the wine, food and hopefully some hiking.

Farm-to-table Rhodes Cooking/Wine tasting - So much fun! Once we arrived to the location, we all went for a short walk through the neighborhood and did a mini food tasting from the overhanging fruits from the trees, plants, etc. True farm-to-table in Rhodes. Delicious! Then to the restaurant/cooking class. Hands on and was an exciting group from Everywhere around the world. Then, while it was cooking we went to small winery right up the road and did a wine tasting, even the special wine (church sacrament). Then back to the restaurant for the best meal! The Lamb was made to perfection! 8/2024 What a day! Must do!

The perfect day out, full of delicious food, wine and scenery. - The trip was an amazing day out. We got the chance to explore a beautiful Greek village. Firstly we visited a traditional Greek shop where we got to try authentic sweets and snacks. Upon finishing we took a stroll around the village, ending up at a Greek restaurant having the chance to create a range of Greek foods which was really fun and tasty! Then we visited a winery, which was stunning. The wines on offer took us by surprise to how nice they were, and the differences on offer. Once we finished, we then went back to the restaurant for a feast, which is some of the best food my partner and I have tasted. We ended the trip with an authentic coffee, which was an interesting experience to see how it was made, and also tasted really good. Our host Addie was brilliant, she answered all our questions and was really knowledgeable about the island of Rhodes. I would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Rhodes, wanting a brilliant day out with the chance of eating some stunning Greek dishes. Thank you for having us, and we will definitely be recommending to anyone going to Rhodes!

Lovely day tour combining history and good food - Lovely day tour, combining cooking and the history of Rhodes and its villages. The tour guides were very nice and knowledgeable and the food and wine were delicious.
