Highlights
  • Teniersplaats - The Teniersplaats, along with De Keyserlei, Leysstraat, Meir, Groenplaats, and Suikerrui, forms part of the route to the Congoboot, a traffic corridor between Central Station and the Quays. Below Teniersplaats is the Opera metro station, named after the nearby Flemish Opera.
  • Rubens House (Rubenshuis) - Since 1946, the Rubenshuis has operated as a museum. The staff has been dedicated to presenting Rubens’ diverse works to a broad audience.
  • Handelsbeurs Antwerpen - The Handelsbeurs in Antwerp is situated on Twaalfmaandenstraat, a small side street off Meir. From 1531 to 1997, it was the site of the Antwerp stock exchange, known as “the mother of all exchanges.” This building should not be confused with the Oude Beurs on Hofstraat.
  • Hendrik Conscienceplein - Named after the 19th-century Flemish writer Hendrik Conscience since 1883, the square features a statue of him. It was previously known as Jezuïetenplein.
  • Oude Beurs - Located on Hofstraat near the Grote Markt, House Den Rhyn in Antwerp features 19th-century facades that conceal a charming 16th-century interior.
  • Museum Vleeshuis - Situated on Vleeshouwerstraat between Drie Hespenstraat and Repenstraat, Museum Vleeshuis is a former guild house dating back to the early 16th century. Since 1913, it has been a museum of Antwerp antiquities, focusing on 800 years of musical history in Antwerp and the Low Countries since 2006.
  • Het Steen - Het Steen is a part of a former ring wall fortification on the right bank of the Scheldt. Since 2021, it has served as a tourist information center for Antwerp.
  • Diamantmuseum - The Diamond Museum in Antwerp’s center chronicles forty years of the diamond industry and trade in the region. It operated between 1972 and 2012 at three locations and reopened on March 24, 2023.
  • Cathedral of Our Lady - The main church of the Diocese of Antwerp, dedicated to the Virgin Mary, served as a cathedral from 1559 to 1803 and again from 1961 to the present. Its tower is part of a group of 56 belfries in Belgium and France listed as UNESCO World Heritage.
  • Brabo’s Monument - The Brabofontein, located in front of Antwerp City Hall on the Grote Markt, features a bronze statue of Silvius Brabo by sculptor Jef Lambeaux, dating from 1887. The fountain was funded by the legacy of August Nottebohm, uncle of Oscar Nottebohm.

Antwerp Escape Tour - recommended! - The escape tour in Antwerp was very well organized. It's special how you can combine a visit to a city with fun puzzles and walking a beautiful route through the city. Even someone who has lived there for years can still discover new things. The two teenagers who were there also had a great time and really enjoyed it! Especially because it is not just about finding images, but sometimes actually doing something to solve a question.

See the city from another side! - A nice addition to a weekend in Antwerp. You see the city from a different side. We have been to Antwerp many times, but now we have been to places we have never been before. We will definitely participate in another city as well. We answered all the questions correctly and are tied for 1st place!

Fun city walk - We had so much fun doing this one. It was our first outside escape. We love escape rooms and discovering new places, so this was an ideal mix between those 2. For us the riddles were quite easy, so if you are looking for really challenging questions, you might be disappointed. But for us it was about a fun day away and that certainly worked out!
