It is very steep, but I... - It is very steep and rocky on the way up. It was fun though and the view was beautiful at the top. We roasted marshmallows as well! I did this before Acatenango and think it helped a lot with adjusting to the altitude!

A nice little experience - This half-day is a nice little day hike to take as a part of your experience of Antigua, Guatemala. If you've never seen a volcano before, Pacaya is a great experience to see in person.

Good value and fun day trip - Great activity to do solo or with a group. The tour guide was great and volcano was worth the hike. I would recommend wearing shoes you don't care about because will get really dirty.

Well worth the money - It’s a unique experience You don’t need a horse to get you up if you’re healthy. It’s not very hard. Your shoes will get super dusty

Amazing Volcano views from the top but it is a strenuous hike. Horses are another fun option to ascend. - It's a worthwhile trip to see all 4 of Antiguas volcanos and the day we went Fuego Volcano sent out several large plumes of smoke. It's a steep ascent that takes around an hour. I rode a horse up and that was fun. The views from the top are amazing and sering Pacays lava field on the descent was also very cool. Go in the morning as you have a better chance if clear skies as clouds move in in tge afternoons

No marshmallows were roasted 😂🥲 - Hike was great! A little challenging at the end but if you’re a seasoned hiker it won’t be too hard. Took off one star for the “marshmallow gimmick”. Nobody successfully roasted a marshmallow. There wasn’t enough heat to roast anything and everyone ate un-cooked marshmallows. Too many ppl in that area to even try. Think they should eliminate that part of the tour cause it was pretty pointless. View and sunset were beautiful and worth the hike.

The hike was nice, if you... - The hike was nice, if you can find another way to get there and do self paced I would do that. They rush you the entire time on the way up to get more people to rent the horses, the horses will follow you the entire way up and every time you stop for even a second they’ll be on you to rent a horse or tell you there’s more left to go than there actually is. I’m not used to altitudes that high, I would’ve appreciated being able to catch my breath without the harassment. You’re only at the top for about 10 min as well but then on the way down there is no rush at all. The dust on the way up is crazy, especially if any of the horses are in front of you. If your allergies are bad I would take something before hand or bring any protective face/nose guards.
