Awesome tour of Antigua & El Paredón - Esteban our tour guide for the week was not only professional, engaging and knowledgeable, but also extremely attentive to all our needs. Our group included 4 middle-aged adults, and 2 young adults/older teenager, of various activity levels. Esteban accommodated all our interests/needs with ease and provided multiple options so that we all had a marvelous time. We also went on several different tours, walking tour of Antigua with street food, Altamira, chicken bus tour & surrounding villages, Pacaya Volcano, and a trip to the black sand beaches of El Paredón on the Pacific coast. It was amazing to experience the different micro-climates. Would definitely go back & highly recommend Columbus Guatemala Travel!

Good day-trip for a nice walk with volcano experience - Nice hike with good view of the volcano. Friendly guide and driver, comfortable pace for the walk and simply but good box-lunch. In general good service, sharing information about the country and the culture.

Great Adventure - This tour was a great adventure. Some of us rode horseback and some hiked. It is a strenuous hike up and down the volcano. Our guide was wonderful and informative and the teenage boys who assisted with the horses were great. We roasted marshmallows in a fumarole and had a tasty picnic lunch.

Please do yourself a favor and do this ! - This was definitely a highlight of my vacay. What a great way to start off the trip! I mean c’mon how often do you get to hike up an active volcano, eat pizza cooked by its heat & warm up marshmallows up there too? Everything about this experience was just awesome! We wanted to do it for sunset and there were no issues; they were very accommodating! We were picked up by JJ from our bnb at the exact time we were told; extremely punctual. The entire ride there was very educational; JJ was really good at sharing his knowledge of certain areas/ towns we drove by which we really appreciated. Once there, we were met by our LOCAL guide, Yimer, …which in my opinion is absolutely awesome! …Not only are we getting a locals insight but also contributing to the local families there. It’s a win win! The trail itself isn’t too bad; I’d say it’s more of an elevation issue that makes it hard. Yimer was super funny and friendly which made the hike harder because it was nonstop talking and laughter. 😆 Additionally , he is a great photographer! He will take however many pictures you’d like and some of his own, which turn out to be better than yours. Lol We were up at the top in no time and had tons of time to enjoy our pizza, marshmallows & beverages . The views from up there are just stunning! We made it back down safely and met up JJ to drive us back to town. There were 0 issues/ hiccups during the tour … everything from booking all the way to ending was so seamless. I also got the chance to chat with Caty and Milind regarding my travels in Guatemala and they were both very nice and had great recommendations. It really does not matter who you interact with , the entire team is great ! Thank you all! Definitely 11/10

The Best Experience of My Life - This was the most breathtaking experience of my life. Yimer was an excellent guide & the horses were lifesavers (Champion and Pancho we miss you!) My friend and I had a picnic in the craters of an active volcano and we shared with our guides and learned about cheese leaves and rode the horses up and down (I am from the American south so the altitude killed me during the hike.) The pictures our guide took of us are going to be framed in my home. I am so happy. They were THAT good.

Luxury service and attention for reasonable price!! - I'm just coming back for a vacation to Guatemala and came accross Columbus Luxury Travel by coincidence while walking around Antigua on my fisrt day. Started to speak to Caty to ask information and she was very kind and attentive to my questions. I liked her joyful personality and she really inspired confiance so I booked my tour to Pacaya Volcano. Esteban was my guide and he was on time and very friendly...easy to approach! While we drove to the site he was very informative on his country and kept me interested in all his stories. The tour was well organized, he even an additional local guide who had a horse following us in case I would need it to finish the excursion (which I did....thought I was stronger but the climb is pretty steep)...I was extremely thankful! the highlight was having some grilled marshmallows over a crater. Pretty surreal!!! Going back Esteban took a different route just to make sure I had different sceneries going back...what an experience!! I highly recommend them!! They can pretty much organised what ever you need and you don't feel pressured in purchasing more excursions. You know they loved what they do and they demonstrate it through their professional service. Thanks again to Caty and Estaben to making my vacation to Guatemala special and safe! Julie
