We commence our journey from Antigua Guatemala, heading towards the Department of Escuintla, specifically, the town of San Francisco de Sales. This is where our climbing to the Pacaya volcano begins. During the ascent, you’ll witness breathtaking views such as the Calderas Lagoon, situated in the municipality, and the stunning vistas of solidified magma rivers at the summit. You’ll also have a magnificent view of other volcanoes like the Agua y Fuego volcano from the peak. The climb typically takes between 1 hour 30 minutes to 2 hours, offering incredible photo opportunities along the trail. Once at the top, you’ll have 15 to 30 minutes to soak in the view and capture photographs.
