Istanbul to Sanlıurfa

Sanliurfa - Guests will be picked up from their hotel in Istanbul and transferred to the airport for a flight to Sanliurfa. Upon arrival, they will meet their guide at the airport, and after meeting their driver and private vehicle, a light breakfast will be enjoyed.

Sanliurfa Archeology and Mosaic Museum - Urfa has a rich history, having been occupied by the Babylonians, Hurrites, Hittites, Assyrians, and Greeks. Visitors will explore the Urfa Archaeological Museum, which houses an extensive collection from the Harran and Gobeklitepe areas.

St Job Tomb - Historical sources indicate that the “Varak Cross,” significant to Christianity and originally located in the Varak Monastery in the Van region, was brought to Urfa in 1092 and placed in this church. According to an inscription on the mosque’s mihrab, it was converted from a church to a mosque in 1956.

Castle of Urfa - It is believed that Urfa Castle was constructed on a Neolithic settlement dating back to 10,000 BC. The earliest written records of the Castle date to the 11th century, and it is thought to have been built during the Assyrian period between 812-814 AD. King of Edessa Manu IX erected two monumental Corinthian columns atop the Castle in 240-242 AD. Local legend suggests these columns are part of the catapult mentioned in the story of Prophet Abraham.

Fish Lake Park and Anzıleyh - The tour includes a visit to the sacred sites at Ainzelha, a lake teeming with domesticated fish.

Cave of Abraham - While in Urfa, guests will visit the cave where the prophet Abraham was born, followed by a stroll through the local covered bazaar of Sanliurfa. A walk through the town will reveal many hidden treasures.

Göbeklitepe & Harran & Karahantepe

Potbelly Hill - Guests will visit Gobeklitepe, a hilltop sanctuary situated on the highest point of an elongated mountain ridge approximately 15 km northeast of Urfa. Gobeklitepe is unique due to its construction date, around twelve thousand years ago, circa 10,000 BC.

Karahan Tepe - Karahan Tepe is an archaeological site in Şanlıurfa Province, Turkey, near Göbekli Tepe. Archaeologists have discovered T-shaped stelae and 250 obelisks with animal figures. The site is located near Yağmurlu, about 46 kilometers east of Göbekli Tepe, often referred to as its sister site. It is part of the Göbeklitepe Culture and Karahantepe Excavations project, known locally as “Keçilitepe.” It is part of a region of similar sites now being uncovered, known as the Taş Tepeler.

Harran - The tour will also visit nearby Harran to see the remarkable beehive houses. According to the Bible, Harran was where Prophet Abraham spent several years with his family before moving to Israel, the Promised Land. This area offers exceptional photo opportunities. After visiting Harran, guests will be driven to the airport for their return flight to Istanbul.

Istanbul - Upon arrival in Istanbul, the guide will arrange for the transfer vehicle to take guests from the airport to their hotel.
