Potbelly Hill - Gobekli Tepe is one of the world’s most significant archaeological sites. Dating back 12,000 years, it predates written records and pottery, and is considered the oldest known ritual complex. This fascinating site is reshaping archaeologists’ understanding of early human history.

KIzIlkoyun Nekropolu - The Kızılkoyun Caves, a historical and cultural gem of Şanlıurfa, offer an unforgettable experience. Dating back 2,000 years to the Roman and Byzantine periods, the site features rock tombs used by the Edessa Kingdom’s royal family. The Kızılkoyun Necropolis contains two Roman Era statues and a limestone sarcophagus. The 1.85-meter-tall statues, found in A.D. 3-4, depict Roman Era soldiers in oriental attire with military gear.
The construction method and style are consistent, using limestone, the region’s characteristic stone. The Kızılkoyun Caves have recently become a popular attraction.
Harran Kalesi - Harran Castle, located southeast of the city, comprises the “Inner Castle” and “Lower Wall.” The Inner Castle, adjacent to the city wall, features a rectangular plan with dodecagonal towers at its corners. Measuring 90 by 130 meters, the castle has three floors and a Sabian temple. Built by Umayyad Caliph II Mervan for 10 million dirhams of gold, the castle’s current form includes 50 corridors and 150 rooms. The circular “outer castle” walls are 4 kilometers long and 5 meters high, with towers ranging from 15-17 meters. The castle has six gates: Aleppo, Raqqa, Aslanli, Mosul, Baghdad, and Anatolia, with only the Aleppo Gate remaining today.
Harran Culture House - This area is identified as the location of Hârân mentioned in the Torah. Islamic histories link it to Mother-in-Law, a grandchild of Prophet Noah, or Aran (Haran), Prophet Abraham’s brother. According to 13th-century historian Ibn Shaddad, Prophet Abraham lived here before moving to Palestine. Harran is called “the city of Prophet Abraham” due to his house, a mosque in his name, and a stone from his residence. Harran’s history is supported by archaeological findings, with its name appearing in cuneiform tablets from the 2nd millennium BC and the Ebla tablets from Northern Syria. Harran is at the crossroads of major trade routes from Northern Mesopotamia to the west and northwest.
Sanliurfa - After the final tour stop, guests will be taken to Sanliurfa airport for a return flight to Istanbul at 20:30. Upon arrival in Istanbul, a staff member will meet guests at the airport and escort them back to their hotel. This concludes the tour. Şanlıurfa holds significant historical importance and offers numerous historical sites to explore. The tour aims to include a variety of destinations, ensuring a satisfying experience.
