  • Plugge’s Plateau, a steep 100-meter hill overlooking ANZAC Cove and Shrapnel Valley, captured on April 25, 1915, by the 11th Battalion, 3rd Brigade of the AIF.
  • Shrapnel Gully, a winding valley from the coast to the New Zealand and Australian front lines, used by many to reach the front.
  • Lone Pine, the site of the Australian memorial and intense fighting on April 25 and throughout the campaign, especially in August.
  • Johnston’s Jolly, a plateau north of Lone Pine with a network of original tunnels and trenches.
  • The Nek, the site of the famous charge by the Australian Light Horse, depicted in the movie Gallipoli.
  • Chunuk Bair, the location of the New Zealand Memorial, built on the hill taken by New Zealanders during the August offensive, and the highest point captured during the campaign.
