For the real cheese head! - The Zaanse Schans is a very good representation of what the Netherlands looked like at the time. The mills, the water and the catering industry complete it. Unfortunately I don't like cheese, but my family ate my portion with pleasure!

This tour was so great - This tour was so great! We wanted to see the countryside outside of Amsterdam, and this tour was perfect. We saw beautiful windmills, a cheese farm, and a small village. Our guide was very nice and knew so much about Dutch history and culture. She told us many interesting stories. My favorite part was watching how they make wooden shoes. This tour is perfect if you want to see the real Netherlands!

Cute little village, well... - Cute little village, well worth visiting. Tour well organised, plenty of free time to explore on your own. Watching the clogs being made was a highlight. The cheese amazing, staff knowledge and welcoming. English widely spoken so didn't encounter any language barriers.

A nice out of the city option, though a little kitch-y - We usually try to do one day tour (at least) outside of a city center area when we travel, and this one was nice, but far too big for our liking. The guide was a language genius - speaking fluently in English, German, Dutch and Spanish, the driver was also great, but the group felt far too big. If we were to do it again, we'd opt for something clearly smaller. Zaanse Schans is very cute, albeit a little kitch-y feeling. The quick clog-making demo was great and the cheese tasting was lovely. The length of the tour felt right given the size too - a longer day would have been too much.

Nice trip to the windmills and wooden shoes - We really enjoyed this tour, despite the frigid temps on the day we visited. The village is cute and the wooden shoe demonstration was fascinating. It was nice to see the windmills close up and to get out of the city for a bit. The cheesemaking fell a bit short; it was more of a cheese shop experience, but it is delicious.

Got to see the windmills - The wooden shoe factory was interesting. Cheese shop/sampling wasn't as good. Got to see the windmills.
