NICE WAY TO SEE KEUKENOF GARDENS, WINDMILLS, SAMPLE CHEESES AND WOODEN SHOES - My wife and I went on this tour May 6, 2024 which was near the end of the season. Taking this bus tour was a very nice way to see the Keukenhof Gardens and to see the windmills, wooden shoe factory and sample Dutch cheeses. At the Keukenhof Gardens we got a short guided tour from the entrance to the windmill and then had about 3 hours free time to look around on our own. The Keukenhof Gardens are huge. We realized that we couldn’t see everything so we visited two of the six pavilions; the Willem-Alexander where we literally rushed through and the Juliana with a special exhibit honoring”75 years of the Gardens”. There was a long line up to get to the top of the windmill so we skipped it. There was a stationary row boat where you could get a pretty picture but with many people in line ahead of it was not worth time time (go early when there is few people in line). The was because many of the people ahead of us had to get a picture of every possible combination of everyone in their group. Yes, they waited in line like everyone else but how about just taking a few pictures. After the gardens, we went to Zaanse-Schans. There watched a wooden shoe demonstration (where we watched a skilled young man make a new wooden shoe in no time) and went to a Dutch cheese factory (after a short talk on the making of cheeses by a young lady, there were several stations where we sampled the many different varieties of cheese that they had to offer. There were some very tasty cheeses). During our free time to explore, we took a walk along the windmills but did not stop for a tour of one of the windmills. We could have also went to see the Zaanse-Museum nearby but didn’t as we felt there was no time. On the bus, our guide told us things on the way to the Gardens, to Zaanse Schans, at Zaanse Schans and then on the way back to Amsterdam.

Wonderful Day Tour - We went on the 6th of May this year and so far our day tour was educational and full of entertainment. Though there was only about 50% of the flowers existing as some were already harvested, Keukenhof was still attractive. Our visit to the cheese factory was lovely. To my surprise, they make nettle cheese which actually contains marijuana and the tastiest of all. Haha!! I have learned from them that Gouda cheese is mixed with whey and takes longer to process than Edam which makes it a bit more expensive than the latter. Visiting their historic windmills was a wonderful experience too whilst the entire journey was fun with our driver, Denise and our tour guide, Ara. The bus provided was huge and thankfully accommodated our suitcases. I highly recommend this unforgettable trip

Great Tour - The gardens are spectacular and worth the day trip by themselves. Zaanse Schans was crowded. It was nice to see but not the highlight the Keukenhof was. The cheese shop we stopped at had some incredibly good cheese.

Zaansche Schans and Keukenhof - Excellent tour and we were privileged to have an excellent guide. Reccomend this tour in season for the Keukenhof. Enough time given to do the sight seeing on your own.

Amazing Amsterdam - I’ve been to Amsterdam 15 times because I find it so enjoyable. The people are nice & everyone speaks English because they learn it in school. The Nazis did not destroy it so the buildings are pieces of art. Speaking of which the museums are worthy of a visit. The Moto , Riksmuseum,Ann Frank, the Van Gough are just a few of the many. The street cars (using a credit card) are efficient & and fun way to explore the city. Try one of the smoke shops to explore a fun way to enjoy life.

Tulips and Windmills - YES!!! - This was a very fun day seeing several different sites. The Keukenhof flowers were outstanding and well run. There were no lines on this excursion and our guide on the way to Keukenhof was able to share the sites from our bus travel. After ample time at the gardens, we traveled to the Zaanse Schans Windmills and enjoyed seeing everything available, including going to the top of a working windmill. This was one of our highlights of being in Amsterdam. Outstanding!

Good Day Out - A well organised day. The coach leaves Amsterdam at 9am, so really need to be there by 8-30am to allow time for check-in etc. Despite the email the day before asking us to arrive 10 minutes earlier, ie 08-50am. At each location you can make your own plan or follow the guide for a while. Keukenhof is always going to be busy, so time can be lost waiting in café queues etc. So maybe better to eat early, take your own food, so time in the gardens is maximised. Of course there are other tours where you get longer at Keukenhof. Zaanse Schans is good too. Outside areas are free. Toilets have to be paid for contactlessly, which can take an age if your coach is waiting. In April/May, weather is a risk, we were lucky go the best day of the week. Whole trip had to be planned weeks in advance. This may not be so good in the rain. There are things to do indoors, but probably not why you booked. I imagine some places get very crowded on rainy days.

Windmills and Tulips - Th e flowers at Keukenhof were beautiful, even if they were a bit beat down and nearing the end of the season. The windmills were quaint and lovely to see. But the cheese shops were a bit much. We stopped at one before going to the Windmill area and had to go through 2more during the tour. That was how the entrance and exit paths were directed. My husband’s favorite part was the demonstration of how the wooden shoes were made particularly when the shoemaker demonstrated how much water was in the wood.

If you are going alone maybe is not too good - 3. This experience es more for families, if you are going alone probably you get bored. The views are grate and landscapes but you spent three hours at the flowers place and is more for families.
