TREKS: the best Jordan trail guides - We returned from 10 days in Jordan to 4 with our 2 teenagers (14 and 17 years old) and the highlight of our trip was to achieve a portion of 80km on the Jordan trail from DANA to PETRA.
After a lot of research and contacts to find the right guides, we finally trusted TREKS, a local Amman agency run by Fouad and his brother.
Fouad helped us a lot before leaving by explaining the hike, the equipment. He has the only hiking equipment shop in Jordan and is an expert on hiking and his country.
Then Munther took over, and was our guide during these 5 days of hiking. Munther has been amazing, fun, he knows geology, nature very well.
The campsites were always in crazy environments!
Mustapha, our aide-de-camp, prepared the campsites and brought us our luggage each evening (luxury campsite with mattresses and downs 😉 as well as a Bedouin tent next to the individual tents to spend the evening warm together!) He is a crazy cook. He introduced us to Bedouin culture over the course of these 5 days.
Fouad and Munther are appealing to the local Bedouin communities so that everyone benefits from a positive impact, are super sensitive to the environment and the ecological impact of tourism! You can go with your eyes closed!!!

Magic!!!! - 5 day family trek accompanied by Munther and Mustapha (aide de camp) it was magical!!! Not just a trek but an immersion in the country and culture. Adorable people who love to introduce the culture. Due to a knee problem at the end of the first day I had to stop walking for two days. I discovered another aspect of the trek and made very nice meetings and visits. I recommend 100%

Amazing Trek in Jordan - We had an amazing trek from Dana to Petra with Treks. Everything was super well organized, the food was delicious, and the scenery of the trek was beautiful and different every day.
Our guide, Munther, was outstanding. His communication was very clear and professional. At the same time he wasn’t just our guide, but a new friend who we are so happy to know. We also loved how much he told us about the local flora and fauna and the geology and history of the area as we trekked.
It was an unforgettable trek, and has made me look forward to come back to Jordan to do more with Treks!

Unforgettable Trek with Treks - I had such a wonderful time trekking from Dana to Petra with Treks! Every part of the trip was really smooth and our guide, Munthar, was absolutely outstanding. At the start, communication with the company was very easy and prompt as they answered our questions.
On the trek itself, each campsite that was selected had amazing food and was really comfortable and when high winds didn't allow us to safely camp, Munthar was able to find alternate comfortable campsites. The trek itself was so beautiful and paced well and I appreciated how much Munthar explained about the geology and botony of the area. He was fun to be around, very entertaining, and kind to everyone around. The hike the Dana to Petra is really a beautiful trek with lots of diverse environments that changed day to day. And of course, entering Petra through the backdoor was spectacular after five days.
All the support team was fantastic as well. Mustafa and his son prepared some of the best meals I've had in Amman with plenty of vegetarian options. Mahmoud, our guide at Petra, had amazing stories to tell about Petra and was really knowledgable. All the folks at the campsites were very welcoming and ready to pour you another cup of tea!
Thanks for such a memorable trip! I will be booking with Treks again hopefully when I return to Jordan someday.

Amazing 5 day trek with the best guide! - Amazing 5 day trek with the best guide! Our guide Munther was so knowledgeable, friendly and organized. He communicated well so we knew what to expect and also shared interesting information about the local flora, fauna, and geology. He also paced well including frequent breaks and taking our feedback so we were all comfortable. In addition, we felt very safe and well taken care of during our trek and Munther also gave us some great recommendations for the rest of our time in Jordan.
We encountered unusually high winds and Munther and the support team were able to pivot seamlessly to allow us to stay in Bedouin camps since the wind made wild camping impossible. The food was delicious and there were great options for vegetarian and meat-eaters alike. We also enjoyed nice conversations with the locals who ran the camps.
Every day of the trek we saw new and beautiful scenery and it was especially amazing spending our final day walking the back way through Petra with a wonderful historical guide. Now I want to go back and do the next section of the trail from Petra to Wadi Rum, and I will for sure go with Treks!

Super - This was my first international trek, it was in Antalya along the Lycian way, and I loved every part of it. Treks are so professional, they are always prepared and you will be happy and safe trekking with them!

Fantastic Jordan trek! - Fantastic hiking trek with Treks that I would urge everyone to book! Such a brilliant experience hiking through the stunning landscapes of Jordan. With our expert guides, Munther and Essa, I learned so much about the nature, the people, the culture and traditions.
Every detail of the trip was well thought through, from the beautiful walking routes, delicious and fuelling food and the set up and locations of our nightly campsites. The support team of Mostafa, Sufean and Saqer ensured that we were well fed and comfortable in our tents so able to enjoy the scenery and spend time chatting with the group, and what a lovely group of people I was lucky enough to be with.
Waking up on the last day and wandering through Petra was a fantastic end to a great trip! I hope to join a further trip next year, to walk the next stage from Petra….so watch this space! .

Just do it! - My friends persuaded me to do this hike with them. I had never hiked more than 21k in a day and had never hiked more than 1 day. What a great experience! Our guides, Munther and Essa were amazing! They were laid back, supportive, patient, caring and fun! So, so, so fun! The depth and breadth of Munther's knowledge about history, geology, flora and fauna brought interesting elements to our rest periods. Essa's local knowledge and connections made a special experience more personal and meaningful. Our support crew (Mostapha, Sufean and Saqer) made sure that our wild camping experiences were smooth and comfortable and that we ate like royalty! Thank you so much to Treks for this amazing hike. I look forward to doing the Petra-Wadi Rum hike sometime in the future!
