Pokut YaylasI - Pokut is stunning, and so is the accommodation where you’ll stay. You’ll be at the Pokut Orion Boutique Hotel, a family-run establishment known for its warm and humble owners. The owner, Zafer, was a bagpipe instrument designer, and this place was his father’s highland house. He has spent his entire life in this highland and transformed the house into a boutique hotel with extraordinary effort and skill. He also plays the bagpipe for his guests at night. Ayşe, his wife, handles cleaning, housing, and cooking with her assistant. Ayşe’s smiling face always makes her customers happy. Her dedication to customer satisfaction is remarkable. She is well-organized and arranges all activities as if it were her home. You will feel at home. She cooks delicious local food for the guests. So, Zafer and Ayşe, as the owners, embody the region’s architecture. After a nice dinner by Ayşe, enjoy a freshly brewed organic tea made over the traditional village stove. Also, don’t forget to taste the delicious yayla sütlacı (rice pudding) originally prepared by Ayşe. Rest in wooden rooms and relax in the peaceful nature.

Pokut and Sal

Pokut YaylasI - The highland’s fresh air will likely wake you up with the sunrise. Let’s go out and watch the sunrise from the top of the hill above Pokut. Then, let’s hike along the highland, spend some time, and return to the hotel. Ayşe’s amazing breakfast will be ready! Everything on the breakfast table has a long history and meaning. She delicately prepares everything, including jam, cheese, organic butter, cream, cakes, etc. She also offers freshly milked milk in the morning. Enjoy a nice breakfast tasting various handmade foods.

Sal Yaylasi - Let’s hike to Sal Highland. See the beautiful wooden highland houses, watch goats and cattle, and experience local life. Stop by the highland cafe and meet the owner. Learn how to make organic food in the highland and try their local sucuk. Spend some time in Sal Highlands, then hike back to Pokut. In the evening, enjoy Ayşe’s delicious local dinner. Then, meet with Yaşar at the hotel and sing local songs together. Play the tulum and practice horon together. This is an ordinary evening in Pokut. Experience the local culture in-depth.

Pokut YaylasI - Let’s go out and walk around the highland. Meet the local people, especially Yaşar, the highland shepherd. He is dedicated to taking care of his cattle and is passionate about preserving the highland environment. He reminds all visitors not to leave trash around. He is so kind and friendly that you won’t want to end your conversation with him. You will understand the real culture of the highland with Yaşar. Another local you should meet is Macit, who plays the bagpipe and goes around the highland. When visitors come, he plays the bagpipe, and people start to dance horon. Meet Macit and go up to the Sunset Cafe at the top of the hill. Have tea and coffee there, then swing over the clouds at Sunset Cafe. After that, let Macit play the bagpipe, and let’s dance horon together. Don’t worry if you don’t know how to dance horon; we will teach you. It’s easy to learn. So, let’s practice horon at the top of Pokut. The sound of the bagpipe blends perfectly with the environment, and you will enjoy it.

From Pokut to Hazindağ

Pokut YaylasI - Have breakfast in the morning and prepare for a hike. Today, we will visit Hazindağ Highland, which is a 3-hour hike away. If you prefer, we can also arrange a jeep safari tour to Hazindağ.

Goodbye Pokut!

Pokut YaylasI - Today is the last day of our tour. The owners will feel sorry to say goodbye tomorrow, so we will have a grand finale night together. Enjoy tea and cakes, sing local songs, dance horon, share funny stories, and recount your experiences. In the morning, have a nice breakfast and pack up. It’s time to leave Pokut. Say goodbye, hoping to see Pokut again. We will drive back to Çamlıhemşin.
