Great experience and amazing staff - Staff are amazing and always on watch. Place was clean and so fun, me and my family had the best time! Shoutout to Callum J and the rest of the lifeguards for making sure my little sister felt better after an incident, Truly wonderful. Great experience will definitely come back 💕

Waterpark fabulous! - We had a great time at the water park! The water park itself was fabulous! Great slides and great fun suitable for a 4.5 year old. We stayed in a Beachcomber room at Splash Landings - the adults bed is tiny and uncomfortable and we had an awful nights sleep. Disappointed there was the “CBeebies police” on the door of that hotel so you weren’t able to look around - I didn’t realise you weren’t allowed to enter if you weren’t staying there. Limited outdoor play areas - unless you’re staying in stargazing pods but that was too big for my son and then just below in same area but not much, we saw a small one by the lake behind the Alton Towers Hotel but it was small - for a children’s hotel each hotel should have a visible area to play on suitable for all ages - more like Legoland so that was disappointing for the evening didn’t really have anything to do, the entertainment was just a singer and not interesting to a 4 year old boy. Would love to come again to the waterpark but wouldn’t stay over there would stay local and drive in.

Good times! - Had 3 days, 2 nights in the resort. 2 days in the park and 1 in the waterpark. Good times had by all (2 adults and 2 kids- 8 years and 4 months). App gave reasonably accurate queue times and good directions round the park- could be better re sorting options (only walking distance and ride queue times), and times of live shows in CBBS land. Rides were smooth, lots of fun and staff were very friendly. Sky line wasn’t running due to hot weather so lots of walking! Drink refill machines didn’t always work, drinks often came out warm and they all ran out of ice quickly. Hotel room in Splash Landings was small and basic and would benefit from upgrade (carpet rippled throughout), needs air conditioning in the rooms (old school fan on wall made very little difference and given the hotel is heated for the waterpark it made it unbearable in a small room), not enough plug sockets, no towel rail in bathroom but amazing shower! Food was nice in Flambo Jambo’s and easy to navigate the buffet but expensive not on a dining plan and booking table wasn’t clear online. Worth going and will go back again but might try a different hotel.

Better Than Expected – A Fun Day Out for the Family - If you’ve booked your tickets and then, like me, started panicking after reading all the negative reviews – this one’s for you! We’re a family of four with two children aged 9 and 7, and we visited the waterpark a few days ago. We stayed from 10am until 4pm and, overall, had a great time. Let’s start with the crowds. Folks, it’s summer!!! what do you expect? Even your local pool is packed these days! We went midweek, and while it was busy, it wasn’t overwhelming. We were still able to enjoy ourselves, so if, like us, you have no choice but to go in the summer holidays, I’d recommend avoiding weekends if possible. As for cleanliness – in the morning and early afternoon, everything was quite clean. Understandably, as the day went on and more people arrived, the toilets began to smell a bit, but I saw staff regularly cleaning and drying the floors. The pool areas themselves were clean, but yes, the toilets could do with a bit of improvement. The queue times were fairly normal on the day we went. We tried the Master Blaster early on, but honestly, I didn’t think it was worth all the hype – it’s just a long slide! Not bad, but I wouldn’t wait ages for it. A downside for us was the food prices. £12.25 for a hot dog and drink, £8.50 for a meal deal, and burgers around £12–£15. Quite steep! I originally thought you couldn’t bring snacks in, but loads of families had brought light snacks or packed lunches. I’d definitely recommend doing the same. What I really liked was that there was something for all ages – though I think children aged 8 to 12 probably get the most out of it. All in all, it was a fun day out and much better than I expected after reading the reviews. Just go with the right expectations and you’ll enjoy it too!

Not the greatest water park - Water park needs updating, clearer organisation re slides, improved facilities and shower/changing areas. Staff are fab.

Ok at best - We got there at 1,30 on Friday afternoon, changing rooms ok,staff were cleaning while we were there, the slides said a hour wait on both tubes slide, when you only get 2 hours, why would you waste your time,I think they let too many people in,I think it needs a re ramp with some matting coming apart and parts of the kids parts being closed.just too many people let in and a very average swim with my children.

Honest review - We visited the water part twice first time in the afternoon. At this peak times there were too many people in the water park and long ques for the slides. Second visit we arrived first thing, much better experience.

Old Alton Towers Resort (showing the signs of age) - We booked the Splash Landings Hotel as we wanted to use the Water Park twice during our stay. We booked in "online" as requested but that was a complete waste of time as system in the lobby didn't dispense the cards, not a good start. The carpet on the way to the room was wrinkled and a bit of a tripping hazards. The Room wasn't cleaned properly, we found "stuff" under the bunk beds. The water accumulated in the bath and took ages to flow away. We noticed that the cleaning staff were mostly teenagers (one looked even younger) and didn't speak much English. The rooms are "jaded" and certainly not the quality we expected for the extortionate cost. The double matrass had seen better days that's for sure and mad a bonging noise every time you moved. The shouting and screaming of other guests as well as kids racing in the corridors well after midnight wasn't great either. The breakfast was a chaotic buffet, the juice was from concentrate and the coffee was made for old socks. But the cooked breakfast was okay, on a par with Premier Inn. We booked the Alton Towers Hotel Restaurant one evening, because they serve Duck ; we were massively disappointed in the Food and the service (again a bunch of youngsters doing their best), the main course arrived before we'd finished our starters! And the price again extortionate did not reflect the quality of the food that was mediocre at the best. And do't get me started on the price of the Drinks, a Guinness, 1/2 Cider and a J2O, £16.50! What's that all about. The water park was over crowded with mega queues and you could barely move in the pools, the lifeguards (mostly stroppy) and the food again extortionate (£26.54 for a hot dog, nachos and a ham sandwich & a package of crisps). The facilities haven't changed in 20 years and shows the signs of age. We visited the theme park on Saturday and that was a good experience that thankfully saved the whole short stay although the early entry to get on the rides was a joke as we arrived a 9.15 am and they didn't open the rides until 10.00 am at the earliest. Not great value for money and not a patch on Disney Land that's for sure!

Over crowded and probably dangerous - These days you are waiting well over 1.5 hours to get onto the water coaster. It’s absolutely rammed !!! The outdoor swimming area called flashed floats used to be a walk on ride , like centre percs rapids. This attraction is also a huge line to get onto. It’s too small for the amount of gusts that have access to it. Brace yourself for this one, a can of beer is 6 pounds !! For a can 😨, that should give you a good reference to how expensive everything else is.

Poor experience in woodland lodge - Here’s my complaint!! Do you think it’s ok? To Whom It May Concern, I am writing to formally raise a complaint regarding my recent stay at Woodland Lodge, booked from 05/08/25 to 06/08/25 for two adults and one child. Having previously stayed at Splash Landings Hotel on multiple occasions—always with positive experiences—I was hopeful that the Woodland Lodges would offer a comparable level of quality and comfort. Unfortunately, that was not the case. Upon arrival, I was pleased with the reception staff, who were courteous and helpful. The location of our lodge was convenient and the surrounding greenery had potential, although the lawn outside appeared neglected. However, the interior of the lodge was deeply disappointing. The floor was visibly dirty and appeared not to have been cleaned for an extended period. Surfaces throughout were coated in dust, cushion covers were stained, and the lighting in the child’s room was non-functional. Most concerning was the state of the bathroom: the toilet looked unsanitary with grime around the base, the sink was mouldy at the tap, and the floor was dirty. The lodge emitted an unpleasant odor, making it unsuitable for a comfortable stay. Due to these issues, we made the difficult decision to leave and return home the same night. I regret to say that the condition of the lodge rendered our stay impossible. This experience was incredibly disappointing, especially given the high standards previously enjoyed at your other accommodation. I would appreciate acknowledgement of this complaint and a gesture of goodwill to reflect the distress and inconvenience caused. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope this feedback will be taken seriously and used to ensure future guests have a more pleasant experience.
