- Nationaal Biermuseum De Boom - We walk past the iconic building of the beer museum, the largest and oldest beer brewery in Alkmaar. In this Beer Museum, which used to be the brewery, 33 different types of beer were brewed. Now it is open as a museum.
- Kooltuin - The Kooltuin has a beautiful small canal. It is a historic canal, because this used to be the garden of the monastery.
- Het Huis Met De Kogel Uit 1557 - There was heavy fighting in Alkmaar during the Spanish occupation. The house with the bullet is actually a symbol of this battle. They say that when the Spaniards shot a bullet through this house, a table, a chair and a spinning wheel were immediately destroyed. But there was nothing wrong with the 7 residents!
- Luttik Oudorp - We walk past the narrowest house in Alkmaar. This was a tax trick, because you paid tax on the width of your house.
- Fnidsen - We find nice shops here. You should definitely visit the Korpsla vegetable shop.
- de Visbanken of Vismarkt uit 1755 - On the other side of the water you see benches, actually a kind of shelter. Now these are used for terraces or bicycle sheds, but in the past this was where De Visbanken where freshly caught fish was traded.
