Sunday afternoon excursion - Worthwhile trip, though the main house is currently under extensive renovation. You can see the effort they are taking to preserve it. The estate is magnificent. Knowledgeable friendly staff

A trip to Mt Vernon - My only complaint it was an hour too long! We completed the house and ground tour by 2 had a bite and then sat around from 2:30-3:30 when we left

Not worth it - Really just an overpriced ride and admission tickets to Mt. Vernon. The building is basically closed for renovations except for a couple rooms. Driver (not a tour guide at all) was odd and not very friendly. Not worth 100 per person although Mt. Vernon was a beautiful property. Alexandria was literally just a drive through town... Nothing more.

Skip the Mount Vernon trip - Worst tour of our DC vacation. Save your time and money and stay in DC. Alexandria is a cute town and we had a great lunch there. The trip to Mount Vernon was highly anticipated as I love history and have always wanted to visit. The first interaction was a sarcastic older guy by the security and then a crabby young man at the info desk. He had ZERO information and basically told us to “grab a map”. The entire Mansion is being renovated and you see absolutely nothing’. There is no furnishings or anything historical to see. Such a disappointment. Wait until the renovations are finished.

Sad - Mount Vernon was under construction and we weren't told until doors were locked and in motion. The main house was a virtual tour. The drivers car was dirty McDonald's french fries trash and drinks left. 2nd driver drove terrible, very unsafe. Never had a issue before with viator.

Not worth the time until they are done with construction - No museum until 2026 and visiting the inside of the house is a joke as only two rooms are available and they are under construction.
