- Fort Qaitbey - The fort was built by Sultan Al-Ashraf Qaitbay as part of his campaign to defent the country against the attacks of the crusaders. The fort was built on Faros Island which is the same location of the ancient light house. It is built of limestone.
- Mosque of Abu al-Abbas al-Mursi - The main old mosque of Alexandria which accommodates the grave of Abulabbas who was the leader of fishermen in Alexandria.
