The Grand Complex of La Mota Fortress harbours the ancient fortified city of Alcalá la Real. This site, along with various military architectural components in the vicinity, provides insight into the changes over time and space related to the progression of the region’s boundary during the Late Middle Ages. Concurrently, it exemplifies the growth of a city from within its walls during the period spanning from the 14th to the 18th century.
