Beautiful scenery and introduction to the Algarve - Booked on Tripadvisor - super easy to do. Communication by Alsafari Tours was superb. Got picked up at our hotel and sat in the front seat which I would personally recommend. You can hear the driver/guide and you can see front, right, left for the whole journey. We made all the stops advertised but one that I didn't realise was one of the best! We stopped and visited a very small distillery, tasted and bought some of the produce plus saw their beehives and cork. The passengers made the decision of where to have lunch and a longer stop - this was Lagos which for us was the right choice. Plenty to explore and lots of nice al fresco restaurants to choose from. We ended the day with a beautiful sunset and got dropped back at our hotel. We were in the Algarve for just 3 nights and enjoyed the full day tour as it gave us a good flavour of the area and we learned bits of history we didn't know before. Highly recommend this tour and tour company if you're not one to sit on the beach all day.

Beautiful day! - I spent an incredible day discovering the Algarve thanks to this guided tour. Mario, our guide, was just awesome! He is passionate about the history and culture of the region, and this is reflected in all his explanations and anecdotes. He has made every stop interesting, whether it is breathtaking scenery or places steeped in history. In addition, it is super nice and creates a relaxed atmosphere while remaining professional. If you are looking for an authentic and pleasant way to discover the Algarve, I recommend this excursion with your eyes closed. Thank you Mario for this unforgettable experience!

Mario’s Algarve - The tour was exactly as advertised. Our guide, Mario, was very informative about the history of Algarve and Portugal, but also about so much more that we all found fascinating.

Good. You can make it better if you rent your own car and do it on your own schedule - The your guide was very knowledgeable and a history buff. he shared lot of interesting details and educated us throughout the trip. He also played some traditional music (fado) was us. He made the trip very enjoyable. Reason for 4 stars : 1) the tour description makes it sound like lunch is included but it is not. I think the description needs to be worded more clearly 2) We were given 2 hours in Lagos which we did not find helpful. Instead we would have liked more time at Sagres. We were only given 20 mins which is not enough. That area requires a good hour and there are multiple points along the way that you can stop at. I understand the itinerary from the tour operator's standpoint. They have to cater to people with different interests and they cannot please everyone. In hindsight, I would have rented my own car and spent time at all the natural attractions as per my personal needs. Going with the tour is a bit of a compromise and you are dependent on their timelines.

Interesting but a lot of travelling. - On the whole the trip was good, we got to see a few places we would not ordinarily seen, Mario our guide was a great guy who spoke great English and gave is not only Historical information but geographical and political insights into the Algarve. On the downside, the minibus was very noisy in the back due to the road noise, and one guest complained it was very bumpy at high speed. The trip to the "end of the world", Cape St Vincent was a waste of time as the lighthouse/ fortress was closed to the public due to long running dispute in the courts, making the trip out there a little pointless. We lunched at Lagos, a lovely little town, but a little tip, don't order Cod cheeks, they were horrible. But on the whole we enjoyed the trip but an upgrade in vehicles is overdue.
