This tour will take visitors to the charming town of Alberobello, also known as the city of trulli, and the fascinating city of Matera.
Alberobello was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996 due to its remarkable example of construction using prehistoric techniques that have remained intact and continue to function in the modern era.
A “Trullo” is a small limestone dwelling, constructed with dry stone walls, roughly hewn limestone blocks gathered from nearby fields, and topped with a conical roof. Souvenir shops, B&Bs, bars, and restaurants will enhance your experience in Alberobello.
Matera is renowned for the Sassi, its original urban core, which evolved from natural caves carved into the rock and gradually transformed into increasingly intricate structures within two large natural amphitheaters: the Sasso Caveoso and the Sasso Barisano.
