An Excellent Well Organised Morning of Discovery and Fun - This tour worked really well for us as cruise ship passengers with an early afternoon departure. Tim was an excellent guide talking us through the local history and geology in an engaging, entertaining manner. The gap itself is spectacular and access to the site has been very cleverly designed with some interesting geological facts and a human interest story of a spectacular rescue. The old whaling station was interesting, some beautiful scrimshaw on display from a brilliant local artist. Also, having been on a cruise ship for a number of days, it was good to eat some proper scones with lashings of cream. Cruise ships just can't get the texture or size right, don't know why! Anyway this trip is well organised, clear joining instructions and represents excellent value for money. An enjoyable half day.

Fantastic tour - Great day out. Our guide was Tim and he had lots of information. Scenery was gorgeous and we saw so much of the area. We even got a quick visit to the War Memorial as an extra surprise. Really enjoyed the beauty of The Gap and Natural Bridge. Beautiful part of the world.

Albany Coast - Spectacular cliff view, well worth visiting although on the day we went it was quite calm and so not as Spectacular as on a rough day. Good to combine with the Whaling centre as they are close together. We left our visit to late in the day, planning on Sun set but the weather was overcast.

Informative tour and great introduction to the area - This privately booked excursion was for 4 hours and departed at 9:00 from outside the port gate. Our guide and also our driver was a man called Tim and there were 24 of us in his bus. We booked this about a year ago but received an email a few weeks prior to arriving telling us one the places we were due to visit (The Gap) was now closed for renovation until the end of December. Given there was little else of interest thrown up when searching for things to do in Albany we decided to carry on with this tour. Our first stop came after about a 15 minute drive and was a quick stop at a place called Goode Beach and as well as being extremely pleasing on the eyes also helped orientate us. It was then on to Frenchman Bay which was the site of a former whaling station. Only a few terracotta bricks remain of what was quite a large operation. Today it is another picturesque spot that you would never know what its history was. Frenchman Bay is also where George Vancouver, the first European explorer of King George Sound, landed in 1791 so quite a significant place in the area. Moving on and this time to Albany’s Historic Whaling Station where we had a mid morning drink with some delicious scones with jam and cream (Cornwall style before you ask). We were there for 40 minutes and Tim provided us with a talk about the site and how it was the last whaling operation in Australia. It closed in 1978 and is now a tourist attraction to make people aware of the area’s history. We didn’t actually go in as there wasn’t enough time but were able to get a general idea about the area and operation. Our next stop was to view Albany’s 18 windmill wind farm which supplies 80% of Albany’s electric, not the most exciting place but it was very picturesque. All the ships tours were stopping here so it just shows you how little there is to see in the area. Back in the bus for one final stop which was to Mount Clarence, home to the Desert Mounted Corps Memorial and the Padre White lookout. Again there were some fantastic views over King George Sound and Princess Royal Harbour We finished our day in port by being dropped off in Albany. I would certainly recommend this tour if you have limited time and even if you don't.

Windy trip - The tour guide Susan really knew her information, I just don't think she was in tune with our group. Lots of senior citizens and it was hard to keep up with her. She also allowed 2 people to monopolize her attention a lot. It was quite chilly with wicked winds and I think she did not take that into account. There were a lot of times where most of the group were back at the van waiting for her to unlock it.

No Gap - I was very disappointed as the tour is advertised as The Gap and Natural Wonders but we didn't see The Gap as the road was closed and had been for several weeks. There was no warning of this on the website. The tour driver was very knowledgeable.

How about being honest - Very dishonest to advertise tours to the gap, when it is closed and not accessible. Has been closed since end of august this year.
