Tremendous - One of the world’s great museums, enhanced by our guide, Abanoub, who not only told us dates and facts, but also had such passion that he brought it all to life! Tour Egypt Club created a fantastic itinerary for us, and this museum was a highlight! (Wear comfortable shoes!)

GEM visit - Although not completely open yet - it’s well worth seeing the various galleries. Will be a unique museum in the long run when king Tut arrives !

Wondrous place! - My guide Samaa Atef met me at my hotel on time with a driver and took us to the Great Egyptian Museum in Giza. She explained each of the monuments including the hanging obelisk and giant Ramses. The building itself is amazing to regard. There was no book or video about this award winning amazing museum structure. She encouraged me to try some unique local dishes in the Egyptian cafe.

Excellent introduction to the GEM - The tour organizer Mariem was very pleasant and responsive handling all details very efficiently. Our Egyptologist David was very knowledgeable and gave us much valuable information not only about the GEM but life in modern Egypt. We enjoyed the tour very much and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in the GEM prior to its full opening. Additional kudos to our driver who was absolutely fearless in the chaotic Cairo traffic but drove very safely.

A preview of the amazing GEM with knowledgeable and friendly guide - We absolutely were blown away with this new building and the statues in its large atrium. The King Tut 3D video experience was stupendous! It's too bad that the entire museum was not open, but they had a great gift shop and are planning a direct route from the GEM to the Giza pyramids in the future. Egypt keeps discovering "new" ancient artifacts and has many other artifacts in storage, so to see all of them in one place will. truly be an amazing experience. We had a private tour and our guide was herself excited to show us the beauty of the place. We also had a great lunch at a local restaurant. First class all the way. We highly recommend the "soft opening" tour, but it was very expensive...

GEM is still in opening phase but worth the visit! - Super time visiting the GEM. My wife and I booked last minute but Explore Egypt Tours put it together. Sama was great, very personable and very informative!

Excellent Tour with Nasser!! - First of all we have to thank Marianne, from Explore Egypt Tours, for getting us tickets less than 24 hours before visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum! Then we were lucky enough to have the legendary tour guide named Nasser as a private guide for this experience. He was extremely knowledgeable about everything in the museum and well beyond that in general. And, he helped us get tickets to the sold out Tutankhamun visual experience less than 45 minutes before it started...which is nuts!!

Too expensive for what it offers - There is only the entrance hall and a staircase to see. The tour has no concept. It says which king or queen, from when to when. No didactic concept, no connections are shown

Where were the tickets we paid for? - We booked two tickets to visit the new Grand Egyptian Museum, for two hours, with a guide and driver. The cost was 150 USD. We received a CONFIRMATION ITINERARY that INCLUDES TICKETS, we still have it for anyone who want to see it. It includes the tickets to the museum, the guide and the car. When we were handed-off to the actual tour company, on-the-ground, we were asked if we had the entrance tickets to the museum, which was confusing because they were included in what we paid for. The on-the-ground tour company then told us, and sent a screen shot that said; the tour we booked with Viator did not include admission tickets or lunch. Again, we have the confirmation itinerary that says tickets are. Lunch wasn`t an issue here, the tickets definitely were, as they are difficult to get. Fortunately, the actual tour company who were picking us up, were able to get tickets for us at the last moment, no thanks to Viator, and they were an additional 66 USD total. How could you charge 150 USD for a tour guide and driver and no entrance tickets Viator!? With no tickets that`s around 55 USD max, anyways, after having been there. To be clear, the actually tour company was outstanding, and you can book them, or one like them, through your hotel for a very reasonable price.
