Hosting many of Egypt’s top musical ensembles, it is situated on the southern end of Gezira Island in the Nile River, within the Zamalek district near downtown.

• Sixth of October Bridge - The bridge and causeway were finalized in 1996, after nearly 30 years of construction. It began in 1969 with the modest, 130-meter (430 ft) Phase 1, which only crossed the smaller west branch of the Nile from Gezira to Agouza (constructed from May 1969 to August 1972). Phase 9 completed the 21.193-kilometer (13.169 mi) final length in 2005. The ‘6th October Bridge and Flyover’ extends from the Agricultural Museum in Dokki eastward to the Autostrade in Nasr City.
• Qasr El Nil Bridge - The Qasr el Nil Bridge (initially named Khedive Ismail Bridge, Egyptian Arabic: Asr el Nil Bridge), is a historic swing bridge from 1931 that replaced the first bridge to span the Nile in central Cairo, Egypt. It links Tahrir Square in Downtown Cairo on the river’s east bank to the southern tip of Gezira/Zamalek Island. At the bridge’s east and west ends are four large bronze lion statues, late 19th-century works by French sculptor and animalier Henri Alfred Jacquemart.
• Egyptian Museum - A visit to Egypt isn’t complete without seeing the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities, known as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo. It houses the world’s most remarkable and extensive collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, spanning over 3,000 years from the Old Kingdom to the Roman period in Egypt. It’s said that if you spent one minute on each exhibit, it would take nine months to see everything. If that’s too long, at least spend a morning (or better yet, two) exploring the museum’s many highlights, despite the often poor lighting and display conditions. The ground floor is organized chronologically, moving clockwise from the entrance hall, while the first floor’s exhibits are arranged thematically.
