- Gizeh Plateau - The tour begins at 8:00 am with a pickup from your hotel in Cairo or Giza by a tour guide. Your full-day tour of Giza includes visits to the Giza Pyramids, where you’ll see the Great Pyramids of Giza - Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. You’ll also visit the Valley Temple, where priests mummified King Chephren, the owner of the second pyramid at Giza Plateau. This is also where you can get a close-up view of the Sphinx.
- Great Pyramid of Cheops (Khufu) - Khufu’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, now buried beneath the village of Nazlet el-Samman. Diabase paving and nummulitic limestone walls have been found, but the site has not been excavated. The valley temple was connected to a causeway, which was largely destroyed when the village was built.
- Khafre’s Pyramid - Khafre’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, the Sphinx temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple yielded several statues of Khafre, some of which were found in a well in the temple floor by Mariette in 1860, and others during later excavations by Sieglin (1909–10), Junker, and Reisner.
- Menkaure Pyramid - Menkaure’s pyramid complex includes a valley temple, a causeway, a mortuary temple, and the king’s pyramid. The valley temple once contained several statues of Menkaure. During the 5th Dynasty, a smaller ante-temple was added to the valley temple. The mortuary temple also yielded several statues of Menkaure.
- Great Sphinx - Visit the Sphinx, the legendary guardian with a lion’s body and the head of King Chephren, located near the massive funeral complex. (2.5 hours spent here)

Statue of Ramses II - The Statue of Ramses II is a 3,200-year-old figure depicting the pharaoh standing. Discovered in 1820 by Giovanni Battista Caviglia at the Great Temple of Ptah near Memphis, Egypt, it is made of limestone and weighs 83 tons. This statue was built to celebrate the victory over the Hittites in the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 B.C.

These spells for the king’s afterlife were inscribed into the walls of its subterranean chambers. This tradition of funerary texts continued in the pyramids of subsequent rulers and into the Middle Kingdom through the Coffin Texts, which form the basis of the Book of the Dead.
